The Republic of Biafra
...........continued

Ya so I moved here almost only because of how stupid american people are becoming.
I have been noticing a shift in society, a shift in terms of the country being more and more divided somewhat into two groups or maybe 3, but all groups are stupid.
But they arent only stupid, they are also divided, so its stupid against stupid and these people as a whole make up the engine meaning the economy, the people, the voters, the workers, the students, the buyers etc...

And school curriculum has become so politicized.

I always liked something that Neil DeGrasee Tyson said, he said kids are scientists, they are so curious and want to know about everything around them.
Thats so true, but somewhere along the line we lost our curiosity.

Now we live in a society where it is so socially divided it is ridiculous. I once went to a baseball game in North Carolina, and when the american anthem came on almost everyone stood up hand on heart. I'm looking around, im sitting down, im like fukk that I aint doing that, but as I look around with people hand on heart i'm thinking that is WAY TOO MUCH NATIONALISM!!!!!!!! Nationalism is a disease, and these "patriots" im guessing are always probably on the wrong side of politics.
Then on the other side of the coin they want to have kids read books about a girl that wanted to be a boy.
On another end society no longer has any critical thinking, we are all so very pro-establishment whether we realize it or not. Any small form of critical thinking and you'll now be labeled as a conspiracy theorist.

So i just did not want my kids to grow up in such a controlled & dumbed down population.
It's like zombies in a mudfight against each other.

I decided to leave, but I was so nervous.
Different country, different climate, different people, brand new life......

I'm so curious to know if I will ever go back, but so far things are looking good here.

You dislike nationalism but you moved to Quebec? You dislike political polarization but you moved to Quebec?

*Montreal.

Montreal doesn't share the same nationalistic views as the parts east, north and even south of it. Montreal is a very progressive thinking city with very open minded ppl. Outside of Montreal it is getting better but especially with the older generations they still hold on to some separatist and bigoted thinking, but thankfully the new generation ain't really down with that.

OP, have you been to other parts of Canada?

There are very view of us(especially on the coli) that have lived on both sides of the border. Most ppl don't believe how different the two countries really are. Sure the ppl may look similar but the mindset and values of ppl are extremely different.

So he's conservative but moved to a more liberal place. :dwillhuh:

This makes as much sense as dead, being in california

SEE THIS EVERYONE???

As mentioned in the U.S. the people are so divided.
Look at this quoted post. You would only find this argument from an American.
OMGGGGGG a conservative guy is moving to a liberal state.

This mentality does not exist outside the U.S.

If I was your political doctor I would prescribe you some travelling. Go see how others live & think.
You are too indoctrinated.

Theres a difference between real conservatism & corporatism.
America is not a conservative country.
Maybe neocon
You've come a long way in a year::mjcry:

Enjoy canada! :salute:

1) Agree on the diagnosis
2) convince as many people of the diagnosis, because as mentioned Obama was wrong to run on a campaign of change. Change cannot happen with a president, it must happen with the people.
3) Clean up house.
4)
5)
6)
7)
8)
9) Focus on policies

As you may notice steps 4,5,6,7,8 are empty. These are to emphasize time.
After you clean up house it can take years and several "terms" to finally focus on the solution that you want me to talk about.

So the real question is how do we clean up house.
Because when asking for a solution you just want me to say something that you will disagree with, and that disagreement lies in cleaning up house.
So how do we clean up house? ...... Libertarianism!

Listen I am not 100% against socialism, but I do think that before we go into socialism we need to go libertarian.
Americans need to become libertarians before being socialists, so you can look at my above list like this.

1) Agree on the diagnosis
2) convince as many people of the diagnosis, because as mentioned Obama was wrong to run on a campaign of change. Change cannot happen with a president, it must happen with the people.
3) Clean up house. Libertarianism
4) Libertarianism
5) Libertarianism
6) Libertarianism
7) Libertarianism
8) Libertarianism
9) Focus on policies, and growing out of Libertarianism into libertarian soclialism.

Why?

Because politicians are auctioneers. Government increases and therefore so does number of legislations.
More legislations = more powers for politians to auction off to the highest bidder.

We need to go towards Libertarianism and decrease the size of government first, that is how we clean up house and is the only way to clean up house.
Decrease the powers that politicians auction off. That's the only way to take money out of politics an backdoor deals because there would be no deal to make in the first place.
And if you think realistically about it, it can take years to clean up house, it cannot happen in just one term.

Then we move towards libertarian socialism.
What's that?
For example, that's where you for example have single payer universal healthcare but also an opt-out option.
An opt-out option where people can opt-out of universal healthcare, will therefore pay lower taxes and rely mostly on the private sector for healthcare.

This will allow americans to get their single-payer but also have an opt-out option which should increase jobs and people wanting to become doctors.

Once we go there, we can then chose the path this country goes towards, socialism, libertarianism or libertarian-socialism.
