I experienced some to, friend. I said hello to one of my neighbors, and she looked through me and didnt say anything. I was like.

can you do me a favor and go there saturday night this week and tell me what your experience is like?
lol that face makes me think this is a setup. I live in Bed Stuy now so Queens is in my past. But in general I think the experience of a light skin black woman won't be same as a black man depending on your shade.
It just depends on what you want out the situation. Sometimes I'l let ignorance go because I don't have time to be a teacher I just need a result. Other times I will take the "teach the world" approach and talk to someone about their wrong but I try to avoid the whole prove you wrong thing with strangers. I don't see how I could benefit enough.
You really will meet a lot of types of middle eastern people in the area though. This muslim indian couple who lives nearby went on a rant about racist cacs and how they used to make him get white people coffee at the dealership he later went on to own.

lol the worst. This happens to my whole fam regularly. I walk by my coworkers literally a block from my office and when I smile they look at me like random black person. My mom sees clients in the streets who try to side eye like "I'M YOUR LAWYER!"

Yea, i dont go out of my way to speak to individuals that dont want to be spoken to but its interesting how blatant someone can be in rejecting a simple hello. Its funny that i can usually tell someones occupation based on if they say hello to me. I can tell which one of my neighbors are teachers/some kind of state worker based on their hellos. Others, i can tell never leave the house or work for some kind of small business where they dont interact with many people.
Its so demonic, friend.

So u basically talkin bout the Coliseum...yea..it's some bullshyt over there..I got in a few arguments wit some cops just for standing infront of the place...when everybody know there's people standing around EVERY PLACE on that lil strip on 165th..why do you guys ALWAYS have to act like this for? WHY???

I wouldn't even start trouble its not worth it, they might end up calling the cops angering you and you might get a cop come in on a bad day who doesn't like your attitude and makes up some bullcrap to detain or arrest you and its on your record
