Sex sells. Sure, her music sounds great but she doesn't push toxic thot behavior. (Sza, Summer Walker etc.)
That's what resonates.

This. She is way too regular for these music fans. She needs to get naked or start talking about sex. If she was white she could get away with this, but not a black artist. no way

only perceived jezebels go viral

She was a child prodigy, long before she was 13 she'd already appeared on every major morning show. Perhaps she's a plant, but are you saying that every kid who gets recognition is a plant or do you actually have more evidence than that?

I mean, she was signed to major label in her early teens.

What more evidence do you need?
By his definition that would mean Beyoncé is a plant too :mjlol:

Or every single one of the Jacksons :mjlol:

Or Stevie wonder :mjlol:

lol y'all make it out as if being an industry plants is a bad thing.

Funny thing is that formula didn't work for the weeknd. Breh could have blown up much sooner if he wasn't doing that shyt.

I don't know why anyone would want to follow that formula.
I feel like Weeknd did that mysterious shot because he wasn't confident enough yet...I thought he talked about it a bit in his Rolling Stones interview.

Either way she should've dropped when that "Focus" song was on the radio everywhere.

Judging by the comments, her's career is basically tinashe 2.0

tinashe is actually talented and has the it factor, she was mismanaged and now it's hard for her to find a lane and climb up.

imo tinashe was probably one of the last female r&b singers with GOAT potential. she had almost rihanna level beauty at her peak, she could write, a legit dancer, great singing voice and artistry. it's fukked up that the industry failed her so badly.

Nothing mentioned in this thread is really hurting her career. Her album just dropped. Some artists are just slow burners. Everybody's not going to sell a bunch of copies the first week.

Are you claiming this isn’t a flop?

If this was a good album then you would have a point, sorta

She does. I know what I’m talking about. She’s just not popular because of label issues but Tinashe has huge star power potential. Just go look at her behind the scenes/candid stuff and go listen to her music. She’s also fine as hell and legitimately sexy

nobody in the game is doing this

She flopped because they're tryna market her as this deep artist, but they give her by the numbers, toothless ass music designed not to offend anyone.
This formula worked with Alicia Keys. But that was 20 years ago and people are tired "just okay" music.
She's always galivanting around with the guitar or piano, and her music is no different than what any other 20 some female R&B artist would do.
She's boring. Her music is boring.
The end.

Artists like HER, SZA, Jhene Aiko etc can sell out concerts which is more important
