Lax regulations are why lead was being found in baby formula in china. Companies will always cut corners for a quick buck, even if they aren't purposely trying to hurt someone.
Lax regulation and no minimum wage have done well in Switzerland...:upsetfavre: Its how they are applied, and communist China is not surprisingly a poor example.

Ok....:ehh: Grocery stores then...:beli: in fact insert whatever you want, and show they they were out to poison people in the name of profits, and not punished.

Coca-Cola used to have actual cocaine in it, hence the name. If you don't think cocaine is a poison....:yeshrug:

Also, heroin and morphine were perfectly legal to be sold over-the-counter.

I don't know enough about the situation in Switzerland to speak on it. But I do know that regulations are needed. This "the market will fix itself idea" usually falls apart when applied to real situations in a modern society.

Cocaine wasn't even illegal until 1914 -- 11 years after Coca-Cola removed it :beli:

I cant really believe you guys think poisoning people is profitable :pachaha:This is hilarious.

That's because you're not thinking logically. Most bums would be happy to have a job. No one wants to be homeless and destitute.
You mean to tell me that all those homeless people up north would rather have a warm apartment to come home to instead of sleeping outside the steps of a church in downtown manhattan?

All this time I just thought they were lazy

:ohhh: tell me more

Right, but it sure was profitable for them while it was included since it had their customers coming back for more due to becoming addicted.

Ask 'Big Worm' on the corner how many vials he sells in one day.

Cigarettes were once considered 'safe' for pregnant women.

There is literally a laundry list if products, drugs, and foods dating back centuries that have had long term effects and immediate ill effects on consumers due to inadequate regulation both from the state and federal level. This is a FACT. Yes in all caps. There is no argument about that.

Your opposition is totally misguided. Those abusers of the system are only a very small portion of food stamp users. The majority of people on foodstamps are elderly, disabled, war vets, college students, hard working families, ect. Yes there are some people that abuse the system, but we shouldn't be so hellbent on stopping those people that we hurt the people who really need the help.
But who should work to provide for people who are not sick and have been on welfare for years?
At what point do you cut them off?

That fact remains true under the FDA no?

Its impossible to remove risk completely, and my position is that the benefits(if any) the FDA provides are not worth the cost.

^ Is not the same as saying there should be no protection as im sure will be suggested.
