Here's the thing though. In having a definition of blackness that some people fall into and some people don't, it is logically inherent and necessary that there is an archetypal black person that represents us as a whole.
If we are to continue to subscribe to this idea of blackness then we need to redefine blackness as something that isn't defined by one's choice of spouse, hobbies, manner of speaking, or group of friends, but rather as something defined by virtue and values. We are valuing ourselves on the external and not the internal, and I find that to be hugely problematic.
