Another thing we're forgetting: ESPN's ratings have actually increased over the last few years as more black people have started watching. First Take is not just the most popular show on ESPN, it's the most popular podcast in this country - largely thanks to very good ratings among black people.

So while I'm sure ESPN wanted to foster a discussion about the fabled Black Athlete and what it means today, they sure as hell didn't want Parker to insult their bread and butter. If Skip had said this a lot of people would be calling for him to be fired, and I think ESPN would have pulled the trigger. Instead Skip gave Parker a gun ("what you think about them braids huh") and let him shoot himself with it lmao.

yea i have tried to see twitter trends while First Take is airing and found out most of people commenting on twitter about the show are BLACK.
