And EA and Activision are dropping games on the PS4. They MIGHT do some exclusive DLC (i hate that shyt) with MS, but more than likely it will be online passes from here on out for ALL games multiplayer or not.

But MMOs require PC cats to stay online to play, so that helps the piracy there.

Even if a game ships with a one time activation code per user on the new Xbox as the article says, you should be able to still "activate" the game on other consoles in the house, but only one can play online unless you turn on the account that first went online with the game on the the other consoles in the house.

You'd probably have to buy another "activation" code to play on another console in your home with a different Live account.

I can see that shyt happening. It's essentially an online pass of sorts for every game and you would need to buy additional activation codes to play the games on other accounts in your home.

with Steam you can use your account on different machines, but only one machine can be signed on at a time. and yes you can get around that by playing offline

Thats funny because the last game i played from capcom on vita was umvc3. You hold onto those prayers friend. Microsoft will not be getting anything more then some special outfit exclusives. They'll do what they always do. Give each system its own exclusive content.

People will still buy the next gen xbox because you know these white collar executives are clever and will find a way to introduce the masses onto this in a way that makes them think it's for their own good. The amount of people who are opposed of this(if it happens just the way it's being said) will be far outnumbered compared to those who do. These publishers want a cut of that second hand market bread man. I'd rather an online pass of sorts maybe to get them something instead of totally killing the used game market. Does that mean you can't take games over to a friends or relatives house? I dunno man.

Sony created this blocking used game thing with a patent they filed back in 2005.

"A device and method for protection of legitimate software against used software and counterfeit software in recording media… A specific title code is read, and if this title code has been registered, the main unit shifts to a normal operation. If the code has not been registered, verification software is initiated… If matching does not occur, the disk is processed as illegitimate software… Since only titles for which legitimate software has actually been purchased and which have been initially registered in the machine table can be used, resale (so-called used software purchase) after purchase by an end-user becomes practically impossible."

Microsoft wouldn't do it, so sony stopped it.
