Obi-Wan's power was more subtle but had MUCH more impact...no dead Obi means no appearing on Hoth, no Hoth, no Yoda. No Yoda, no training. No training, no Luke holding his own against arguably the most powerful Jedi of his time. you know the rest

They knew Luke was the choosen one. Luke came from living with his uncle and aunt (peter parker style). And even tho they wernt her real ones Leia grew up with parents. One of the main goals of the Emperor and Vader was to turn Luke to the dark side cuz they knew how strong he was.

he didn't have to. it just so happens he did. and he didn't die, he became one with the force. when you think about it that way, obi-wan had the ability to cut through space and time at any moment and on any occasion and appear to anyone. it's not the same as living day to day. dude could be on tatooine one minute chilling at the mos eisley cantina, then he could go to corusant and hang out at the club all in the blink of an eye...
