Jay's lyrical style and cadence are directly influenced by NAS. Not the other way around:snoop:

That's true but
that's like saying pink (Jay Electronica) comes from red (Nas)

those bolded bars and how they're said are clearly pink :lolbron:

Nas is already cemented in @ No. 2 all-time to Pac. With or without ghostwritrs for untitled. I'll give NaS the benefit of the doubt, he hasn't had any accusations and been in the game 20 years. Though seeing you Stanleys scramble for answers is hilarious, ya'll the same ones who accused Wayne of using Gillie as a ghoswriter when he wouldn't admit to writing for him but "coaching". Same type of instance here with Sticman, he probably gave NaS ideas

all the more reason why Nas would possibly recruit Jay Elect to write for him
after he got writer's block

I think you're partly right

but you don't think this has Jay Electronica's exact intonation and lyrical style and delivery and everything? :usure:

This is the Genesis
And I don't even see a worthy arch nemesis

I get loose like the Jena Six
They put a noose on 'Pac
Now I'm defendin' Vick and free that ****** TIP
I'd take the grave or a bed

Then to let some dirty clan members run up in my crib
And plant cracks on the man that's goin' to church
Plants packs on the man that's goin' to work
And build cases

Meanwhile they daddies and they brothers is recruitin'
All my brothers and cousins to fill bases
The nerve of y'all to call Escobar racist
******, ******, ******, ******, ******, ****** hatred

ooooh cause he mentioned Mike Vick and TI just like Jay Elect did songs for Vick and TI cause Nas aint got no reason to mention them but he did and then Jay Elect produced it ohmygawd :mindblown::mindblown::mindblown::mindblown:

I would never be able to post :aicmon: enough to show how I really felt.

a rumor that goes unchecked becomes a "fact" on the internet. just like that shyt they tried to say about morgan freeman. he thought it was ridiculous to even address it so people just believed it.

As far as dream hapton, first she says "jay elect and stic.man wrote most of untitled", appearantly because she was debating about harry balifonte's remarks against jay-z. :leon:

people started callin her out.

then, she "heard 6 reference tracks for the album" :bryan:

stic.man checks her on the rumor.

then, she "heard a few lines that she heard on some other dead prez tracks verbatim" :shaq2:

stic.man has no idea what songs she is talking about and takes the convo private.

meanwhile, stic.man has repeatedly been very clear about his contribution to unititled. he was called to work on the album thinking they was gonna be spittin, but later realized it was more for production. nas had an idea for "sly fox" and stic showed him a beat and he ran with it. stic wrote the hook for "sly fox" and added a couple of lines during the writing process for that song, which occured in the studio (no reference tracks). he also gave nas the beat for "We're Not Alone" which already had the chorus, he was original saving for dead prez but nas liked it and wrote some verses and recorded it. he also sent him the beat for the farrakhan track and nas laid down his verses seperately. so of the three tracks stic.man collaborated on, none where reference tracks or ghostwritten.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few lines here and there were verbatim.. hell I remember D12 back in the day saying they'd sit in the studio and ask each other "man what rhymes with orange?" and someone would say "door hinge".. there is a collaborative process in the way hip hop is made which is fine

what would disturb me is if like 8 bars or a whole song were just recorded straight from another guy.. and '6 reference tracks' suggests that--and like I said, beggars belief

Byron Crawford is the goat

Nas doesn't write his own rhymes
I wonder what dream hampton's motives were in revealing that Nas uses ghostwriters. Did she not realize that it could be devastating to his reputation? People have a tendency to accidentally say things they probably shouldn't have said on Twitter.
.....
Who gives a shyt whether or not Nas wrote "You Owe Me?" Or could it be that she was well aware of the implications of such a revelation, and she let it loose anyway, because she's a huge Jay-Z stan, not to mention one of his employees? I'm willing to give dream hampton the benefit of the doubt and assume that she said what she said not because she was high, or because she was reflexively jumping to the defense of her benefactor/male surrogate figure, but because she understands that her role as a journalist is to expose frauds.

U skipped the part where he's basically say "I don't know Wtf song heard" on some "prove it to me cause that shyt never happened" type shyt...

to me it didnt seem to be on some "shyt never happened" shyt

more like

"i am interested to hear what you heard"

because that covers nas back properly while still not denying that it happened

notice throughout all of this dead prez guy has never once said "nah that didnt happen"

its been some avoiding the question ish

ex: did you ghostwrite for nas?

"nas is a legend man what we did together was a tremendous honor to be able to collab with a legend like that people trying to bring him down...man thats weak af"

yo but son, you didnt answer the question, you just dapped nas a bunch and dodged

ex2: yo i heard some of your bars that m and pro played me that i heard nas spit verbatum

"oh man i would be highly interested to hear what you heard"

son didnt deny anything, he's just avoiding the question

which i respect, because its out of respect for the gawd nasir

but its pretty telling that dude isnt denying it outright and being like "look i wrote the cbs line and helped on the hook of sly fox, thas it"

Then he got jealous and mad at my shine.......read in between the lines....jay did 3 kings. Sneak dissin Nas. Out the bm wit ya bm.....it's just different.....Nas had the r and b feature talking about "caught her listening to takeover" Nas has the most mainstream buzz of any artist all of a sudden a known associate of Jay Z tweets that. Smarten up brehs. It's crazy because I told my boy back when exhibit C dropped that Nas ghost wrote for Jay E. I was wrong lol. Do I give a fukk? Ones starts to question the constraints put on MCs. Every line or lyric must be original. No other genre has that restriction.

he is admitting to collaborating with nas, but ghostwriting is a whole different level, and he is wondering why people are taking to that level

at least thats what i get out of it

i mean no ghostwriter is going to admit that he ghostwrote for the artist in question unless he got spurned and had a falling out/he didnt get paid and is salty about it

he isnt gonna be like "yeh i wrote this this and this" because thats not the honorable thing to do in the industry. he's not gonna intentionally shoot himself in the foot like that

the reality is from here we're just going to get more vague references to it by people, nas/stic/jay elec not really talking about it and dodging questions
