she claimed the album was "largely written by" other people and she shed "tears" about it now she finds the "hoopla corny"

really her dismissal about the importance of this is the part that sticks in my craw most even beyond her not providing more info about what she heard when ... you drop that bombshell and then spend the rest of the day talking about "why don't we talk about real stuff instead of this gossip?"

Well to us it's Art. It's not gossip.

Dream Hampton: I'm not a hater. I love Nas. And see no shame in the fact that you wrote some of those songs. Furthermore, it was tangential to what I was talking abt w/someone on Twitter, which was artist's responsibility to the people

Dream Hampton: Also, it's not a rumor.

Sticman Deadprez: Dream Hampton. I certainly don't mean to call u a hater. I am just being brought up to speed about your tweet. I heard the "rumors" from other tweets and a few emails from fans. I still haven't read your tweet. So my statement was just being clear on how I felt about the collab. That was a great opportunity for me to work with one of the most influential emcees to my own personal flow and craft. I can't speak on what Jay and Nas collab was cause I wasn't there and that's there business. Both of those cats are awesome lyricists in my opinion. But for me I was just a white belt that answered the call for a session with a master of the craft. And I assisted where it was requested with ideas, beats and some writing. Not because Nas "needed" me lol...Again I was just honored to get the call. Nas new album Life is Good is lyrically magnificent and his skills have always spoken for them self. So that's just my view I respect that folks may field different ways about it. Just clarifying my position.

Sticman Deadprez: And I referred to it as a "rumor" because obviously no one of the people talking about it were present in the session. So people can sometimes think they know but weren't present so they speak on what they think as opposed to being there.

Dream Hampton: Stic. Thanks for your clarity. I was frankly surprised when I heard whole bars you'd written and performed played to me by Pros and M spit verbatem by Nas. But at the time, I took it as an opportunity to reflect upon my own writer's block. As I said, I tweeted this in passing and find the hoopla corny. I respect all three of you as lyricists.

Sticman Deadprez: Wow. I don't know what they played you ..I'd love to hear what song u are referring to... But inbox me ya number and let's just build how we do...love

Where is this from

Nas is my favorite rapper.

My being a fan doesnt invalidate what Dream has to say. I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe she made this up out of thin air to "discredit" Nas.

Do I believe it? I don't know.

I do know that whether she's telling the truth or not, its been amazing watching Nas stans rioting all over the internet.

It was all good when Dream was opening the closet door on BIG's homie right?

Dont change now.

I refuse to believe Nas has ever had a ghostwriter. If Nas ever had a ghostwriter than it's possible for every other rapper to have used one too. This man has been spitting classic lyrics for damn near 20 years and now he got a ghostwriter. Well whoever writes his lyrics should have been released an album. Why give all of these rhymes to another man. I'll wait for Jay or Stic to acknowledge these allegations then i will believe them.

"I tweeted this in passing and find the hoopla corny"

:rudy: you knew what you were doing you attention grabbing hoe

basically what she means is "I tweeted this because I was emotional and now its blown up in my face but I'm not going to withdraw my original statement even though stic.man checked me, because I'm too proud to admit I was wrong so instead lets talk about something else"

So we have CREDIBLE people like Stic.Man, Just Blaze, DJ Clark, and No ID saying that Nas does indeed write his OWN lyrics, No ID even posted a photo of Nas's rhyme book as proof, and we STILL debating on whether or not what this bytch says is true?:wtf:

He used on a ghostwriter on the QB's finest album tho.

The precedent is already there.

So based on that interview with Stic, it sounds like Nas asked him for his help with production and some concepts for what would be somewhat of a concept album, probably because he knows Stic hasb a good feel for the subject matter and is probably a little more astute when it comes to politics and black history than him. They got together and brainstormed concepts and ideas. At the most, maybe Stic contributed a line or two to three songs. :yeshrug: Sounds like when a fiction author consults people for a book they're writing.

Nas still wrote his whole catalog and is still the GOAT. Seems like a non-story to me.
