French weren't fully mechanized and the army still relied on horseback

It's worth pointing out here you could swap out "French" for "Germans" in this post and it'd be equally true, if not more so. For all that we have this image of the Blitzkrieg being this fully mechanized form of warfare, the German Army actually wasn't very mechanized at all compared to the Allies, especially as the war went on. The panzer units were pretty mechanized, but the rest of the Wehrmacht moved supplies and men largely how they did in WWI, or even earlier. Once it was off a train, supplies and men were largely moved by horse-drawn carts and by foot.

The first two posts go into more detail, but the gist of it is the Germans weren't nearly as mechanized a fighting force as we might think

If Blitzkrieg was so effective for Germans in the beginning of WW2, why didn't they keep using it to win the war?

"Say hello to Ford and General Motors you stupid fascist pigs, look at you! You have horses! What were you thinking?"

there are many reasons why the Blitz stopped being as effective as it was.
imo, the logics of supplying an army that is increasingly far from home get harder and harder therefore Blitz like maneuvers became harder.
weather and terrain are another reason especially in the East with Russia. how you gonna Blitz when your men and armor can't move because of mud, snow or are frozen solid.
another reason is people learn quick. how many times can you pull the same trick before it's predictable?
yet another reason is that they had nowhere else to Blitz past France. Germany and Spain were not at war and Germany had no plans to invade.

People don't realize how evil Germany was. They were heavy into the occult. They were working on space machines and rockets. After the war ended a lot of those scientists and engineers ended up over here in the United States and began what we now call NASA today. We wonder why the United States turned into what it has. When you let the enemy make a home with you, they bring everything with them.
