Kyrie is younger and gets to play with porzingjs?
Barely. Kyrie is a year younger than Melo when he got here. It's not like we're talking about a 22-23 year old with a crazy ceiling. We know exactly what and who he is.

We've done this before. It didn't work out. How about we try to build through the draft and developing assets for once.

Younger by 1 year? And is KP a better player now then Amare was when Melo got here? Overall? By the time KP is an all star caliber player the Knicks are going to be paying him and Kyrie both the max (and THJR $17 mil), without any first round picks. And Kyrie is a ball stopper who doesn't play defense, just like Melo.

I'd still try to get him, but I'd have a very calculated plan as to not hamstring the organization in the next 2-3 years. And right now, I don't know what the plan would be, lol.

Kp has no serious injury history, is a much better defender, and his playstyle complements kyrie. Melo and amare never fit, and even then amare body gave out his first year

What's the difference between Kyrie and Melo when he first got to NY?
Kyrie's a couple years younger than Melo was when he entered into his first full season with the Knicks, and locked into a lesser contract than melo signed for( in terms of percentage of the cap its taking up), and for a couple more years at least.

He would have way better synergy with KP than Melo did with Amare.

KP isnt as injury prone as Amare so you dont have to worry about Kryie having to carry the team by himself eventually like Melo did.

Kyrie pobably wont take the massive amount of assets to trade for like Melo did ( i think we're undersetimating how much the Knicks traded away to get Melo)

Any picks traded away will likely be protected this time (you gotta think Mills knows better after the Melo trade).

Kyrie is a little better now than Melo was at the same point in their careers, and i think he can be even better in NY than Melo was(thats just my opinion though, and i say that knowing Melo was amazing for a two year stretch and very good the other years ).

He's young enough to have his career play out with the rest of the young players.

Given the context of the two situations, a Kyrie trade makes way more sense to me than a Melo trade did:ld:

I really love Kyrie.

I'd love him as a Knick.

I just find it interesting that, like Melo, Kyrie will be better than any of the prospects we get, but would he be worth giving up Melo and picks....AND Frank?

Does this move protect us from a half decade of bullshyt criticism of gutting the team for a "non defensive, blah blah blah who messed up the rebuild so we could try to win now! Blah blah blah skinny Iverson wannabe... Blah blah blah"?

nikkas sold me on a rebuild. nikkas sold me on holding onto our picks and not leveraging that for a chance at a non two way player who will not make us win against the warriors...

I would love Kyrie just like @Mr. Jack Napier and root for a competitive and fun team even though they won't win a chip... No sarcasm. I enjoy competitive shyt.

I don't know which trajectory we are supposed to be going now:snoop:

No matter what we do cats gonna come at us, they’re sheep so they follow the trend. We just need to do what we feel helps to better the team, I think that’s going young.

Im with storyteller though, id want to keep Frank to pair with Kyrie, id want another playmaker in the back court with Kyrie and someone to pick up his slack on D, I think they would end up an amazing duo.

If Frank is traded though, would a Kyrie/Thjr backcourt even work? I didnt even think about that yet...

He wasn't making an impact either. At this point we pretty much know what Kyrie is, an exciting and elite scorer and not much else. I don't mind trading for him but multiple picks and Frank or willy in addition to melo? Nah.
Exactly, we know what Kyrie is. An offensive maestro who we've seen a team win with as it's second best player and go to scorer late and close. Putting a player like that next to KP is exactly what you want moving forward.

I'm all for tanking and gathering assets, but as I've already pointed out, the team cracked 30+ wins the last two years with KP being a kid and everything around him going up in flames. Tanking is no longer an option unless he gets hurt.

Parting with Melo, one of Frank or Willy, and a pick is fine.

I think the biggest issue with the nyk are the fans man exactly we all know who kyrie is . An undersized sg that plays no d with a high usage rate dribbling 20 seconds. How does he help kp development? You think rose was bad and frustrating for kp .
And what do we give up picks? Nitty? Why ...?.. let's say kp and kyrie work out where they going? 2nd round maybe

kyrie is a better play maker than rose in 2017
while kyrie can and will dribble a lot....he's actually developed his playmaking
kyrie averaged almost 6 assists per game while not even being the main facilitator on his team......the main one would be lebron.
derrick rose averaged 4.4 while being (for the most part) the only player on the roster whose true position is point guard.

I'm going to stop being a bytch and keep it real...

Chances are, Kyrie or not, we aren't winning a chip in the next 6 years.

I'm okay with that because I'm a big fan of entertainment and I'm of the belief that the 90's Knicks, who didn't win a chip, was the type of fun and fan beauty that I enjoy.

The Cubs broke their curse of 100 years.. You think they are still filled with joy today? No, they are chasing the next year and that shyt is forgotten.

With that being said, I'm not trading Frank. Part of what's fun is seeing my draftees grow - I'm willing to be on record saying I want Frank and KP.

Either way, bring on next season- I miss Knicks ball.
