I just checked and you can't, my bad, only qualifying offers can be rescinded, (like in this case with KCP for example)Is rescinding something they allowed to do?
bro.....the reason the knicks are in the predicament they are and have been in...is because they make too many short sighted moves to compete...and they always blow up in our faces
you liked the rose trade....didnt work. i bet you liked the noah deal...didnt work.
the moment they try not to push every chip to the table to force a playoff appearance that would mean nothing ultimately...its "they arent trying to win...imma go elsewhere"
you're not looking at anything with the right context....just the results.
5-10 years....Knicks haven't won a championship in 44 f*cking years, haven't been to the finals in 18 years.
People supposed to wait around another 5-10 years to be competitive
It's a wild overpay for a guy who might not be as good as Dion Waiters... who got $20 million less.
4 years is also a really long time for a guy who still doesn't defend, and didn't even shoot 36% from 3 last season.
He also plays the same position as Courtney Lee AND Damyean Dotson, who are both better shooters (though obviously Dotson is a 2nd round rookie, so I don't pencil him in as a starter/player yet)
He also isn't a point guard, which means right now this team appears to be angling towards having Frank White start the season as the #1 pg.
The thing is, I'm Okay with the idea of the knicks betting on a young player with potential... I just don't really think Tim is that player.
he has more incentive to...with that dumbass money we offered...and with melo possibly being off the teamThis is my frame of mind exactly. If Timmy posts his post allstar numbers he'll just barely be worth the money (and that's assuming he plays defense which isn't close to promised). In spite of him flopping as the season wore on, I really would rather have chased KCP...unrestricted now, so no need to overpay and he's a year younger, plays defense and before the Reggie Jackson drama; he looked head and shoulders above most other young FA's this offseason. I'd swing for the homerun over a THJ or Waiters, young cats but I think have limited ceilings...I also don't like that THJ is a gunner, there will be plenty of nights where he leads the team in FGA's over KP if Porzingis doesn't assert himself hard.
