I don't know what NBA these dudes are watching. :heh:
You don't get first rounders for players over 30 anymore, it's why the Hawks couldn't find good deals for Horford or Millsap.

Even if that was the case, which I haven't seen, 1st Rounders in today's NBA are only valuable in the first 6-7 picks (being generous). You mean to tell me he's not worth a late first rounder? 2nd Round players are straight DLeague. So you don't get a starter for a starter? Will McDermott even crack rotation?

I'm not as sunset as everyone else.

The NTC made this difficult. Melo's age and other factors severely limited our return. It is what it is.

We have Melo on an exciting team.

And we have youth that we can root for.

Now... Thread title names...:patrice:

I'm hoping Timmy beasts this year.

He had a No trade clause, it limited the trade options out there and even if he didn't teams aren't giving up a lot for players over 30 anymore.

Nah, first rounders are valuable, doesn't matter where they fall now. Even 2nd rounders have value, teams have shifted how they view picks and just throwing first rounders in a deal doesn't happen unless a young star is being traded, or a very bad deal is being moved and you need the pick for incentive to take on the contract.

McDermot & Kanter are really irrelevant, they are there to make the salary work and not much else. The deal is all about moving Melo and clearing room for the team to develop around Kristaps.

Good news: we didn't get saddled with a bad contract (Anderson)
Bad news: we didn't get a decent pick or by some miracle get rid of Noah's contract :mjcry:
Good news: we're going to tank and get in position for a nice draft pick
Bad news: NBA is probably gonna change lottery rules just to fukk with us :mjcry:
Good news: KP will finally get to take over the team
Bad news: Beasley, Jack and Kanter will jack up 20 shots per game :mjcry:
Good news: We'll get a break from constant media shots at Melo and the team
Bad news: Isola is writing a hitjob piece on KP as we speak :mjcry:
Good news: I'll be able to find some cheap Tuesday/Wednesday tickets during the season
Bad news: I have to find a new avi :mjcry:

Good news: We'll never have to read another post by bytch ass @Francis White in this thread :blessed:

Salute Melo. For all th bs the Knicks are seems like he always stays involved and handled all the media and FO lunacy with class. Hopefully he has a great season in OKC and they go deep in the playoffs, and proves all the haters wrong. Breh can play defense, pass decently, rebound, and score efficiently, but all that was fukked up because of our bum teams. Lest we forget the season he had with the J.Kidds and them. We've all seen FIBA Melo.

Get em:salute:

As for the Knicks...well we got what we got. I'm just happy we're moving on from this pathetic sideshow of our own FO going at our star. Melo out, Phil out. Start anew. KP, Hernangomez, Frank and Tim, let's focus on them.
