I guess but that doesn't really mean anything it wasn't just that album most of snoops albums are not good besides the hits all that shyt is garbage. But I guess it's still the dogg but if anyone wants to say that snoops albums are good or have even aged well is lying or doesn't know. it's a disappointment more then anything snoop couldn't even ever rap like he did on doggystyle and the chronic ever again. Last meal is fire tho I'll say not a classic but fire 4/5
To me the worst album hes ever made is da game from the beats, everything that album shoulda never happend

Honestly for me:2001, freestyle conversation(just dont like the whisper delivery but lyric wise he was on point), gangstaz life, change gon come, may i, i will survive, c walkin, snoop bounce (just dont like the mixing personally the vocals shoulda been louder and beat shoulda had the same tempo as the epmd/breed versions, street life, if theres a cure, snoops upside ya head, 21 1st st, gold rush, up jump boogie, tommy, word on the streetz, sixx minutes all these showed him at his best lyrically honorable mentions: wanted dead or alive, midnite love, once again, doggyland (just needed to be mixed better).

Of those songs he wrote most of em himself so for me thats enough evidence that he still had it and didnt need no writers. But I guess it was more because of the shyt that was happening at the time that made him not even wanna do music most of the time....
Do you think this writing process is common among other artists/labels ?
IMO shyt is nothing too spectacular, I dont like it persoanally but If we are absolutely real most likely every fukkin rapper that has had a bit of a career or has been in the game for some time has at one point used writers, had a verse or a song or even a couple songs written for him by artists on his label, people in the background or whatever else...
Imo that also goes for "legends" like jay, nas, eminem, pac, big etc. etc.
I always give snoop props for actually creditin the writers on songs like here on doggfather were he used writers on like 5 or 6 songs on the retail or top dogg were bad azz & tray deee were involved in writing "doin too much" & "Just dippin"

Daz was nvr the same after dre stopped mixing his shyt & I doubt even DJ quick could save snoops albums. Snoop was dope over battlecat beats too.
Quik did wonders with all eyez on me. Snoop cant put together a solid album by himself he needs guidance. Suge picked the tracklist for doggystyle and dre picked tha last meals.

Doin too much is another doggfather leftover as well which is why you see the tray dee and badazz credit. The reason why snoop used writers on DF because he was tryna give his homies shine like what dre did on chronic.

DJ quiks a legend no doubt but snoop could fukk up and just choose the wrong quick beats like he did on no limit top dogg but quick and battle cat def have the beats if dre ain't there. Regardless tho it doesn't matter who chose the track list man lol trash is trash breh

The album needed to compliment all eyez on me and dogg food which unfortunately the retail doesnt but the early drafts of the album does.

I can understand that but I still dont like it. He shouldve rather somehow put their album out because it wouldve been fire.
Snoop still came up with the best lyrics himself like on songs such as "Gangstaz Life" or "May I"...
He was never a Nas level lyricist but hes too often reduced to the "abc 213 lbc" rhymes IMO
But you think this is common practice in the industry ?

Sometimes, just depends on the artist like pac wrote for some of the outlawz except for fatal and edi. But i do agree he should have kept the story telling tracks on there, in all reality he shouldve kept the full ganstas life on there, replaced soopaflys weaker produced songs and replaced them with songs like may i/change gon come for example. Also shouldnt of had dj pooh mix it dj quik woulda brought the quality up alot

Yeah the mixing was off on some of the songs, surprised me that dj Poohs mixing actually Lacked on some songs.

BTW: You got an actual List of all those DF songs and who exactly wrote what ?

Yeah it aint like Pooh is an amateur or anything but his mixing was flawed on this album...
Woudl you mind to post a lil list with all the songs you know were written with somebodys help/by someone else and the respective writers ?
Plus: Is there also info about the songs snoop wrote for daz ? I know he did his verses on the chronic...
And any chance you could get some infos about upcoming leaks ?
