man.... when you used to be zoned out messing around on the internet....

only to hear that *click* when the modem kicked off and the AOL screen name/password box would pop up....

remember the rage you felt? that split second between the AOL box and the phone actually ringing felt like an eternity of anger and torment......

I remember sneaking into the spare room (where the computer was at the time) and looking at the wildest sh1t. I honestly never knew what the Internet was for back then other than to look at porn, gruesome stuff, funny videos and using it as an Encyclopedia.

I discovered Rotten.com at a friends house and that was our regular site to go on, we used to look at the "Fukk of the month" contest where people would submit photos of themselves doing some wild shyt. Not only that, but some of the images I saw on there (Motorcycle guy with the face missing in ER, the boiled corpse in the bath tub) Ill never forget, and to think how much easier that stuff is to access these days.

I remember it taking like a whole day to download a Jackass episode on a 56K modem

:snoop:

yooo i remember everything you nikkas have been posting. I swore i was a god at sneaking around, but it's like mom dukes always had a sixth sense or something to randomly wake up at like 2 am for no reason...

i used to be on the ps1/n64 dumb early in the morn trying to get some games in. I used to put the tv on mute n shyt lol and was still getting caught because of the bright ass light coming off the screen lighting up the room like a xmas tree. Getting caught was the worst because you know you won't be able to sniff the console, much less turn it on after school or the weekend for fukking up.

I remember one time I thought i was good and was playing Goldeneye alone trying to knock out a mission. The tv volume was real low because I had to hear the audio, it was so beautiful...little did I know that would be the end of me. I was about half way through the mission before I heard "weh di bomboclawt you a do in yah...tun dis off now"..That sudden shock felt like I was like going to have a heart attack, ain't nothing worst than getting surprised screamed on. My mother HATED video games back in the day, I never understood why. It could be the middle of the summer and she had a problem with me playing one, but If I went out to play till late at night, coming back with bruises n shyt, she had no issue.

I remember when my family and my cousins family lived together in a big crib with a den area, we had planned nights to sneak out to play games n shyt...fukkin hilarious. nikkas was getting caught in groups n shyt...terrible. The worst was having someone being a lookout, they would hear something and just sprint off into a room leaving everyone alone to get caught :laff:

fukking memories man...i love you nikkas for this thread..pause

I caused a couple of $90 computer virus "repairs" back in the day :russ:

funny thing is I could solve the issues today no questions asked. Those local computer repair shops were getting away with murder during the internet boom of the 90's :wow:

You ain't lying. I remember our first computer, I think we got it in 97 or 98. Had that shyt filled with viruses, the computer barely ran. My dad took it to the shop to fix, the guy try to tell us that I even broke the CD Drive, actually physically broke the CD drive. My dad flipped out on me even though I barely used the CD drive, thankfully my Dad didn't have the money to buy a new drive lol. A few days later I actually used the CD drive and it worked fine, my Dad still didn't believe me lol.

I remember it took me like 6 months to realize I could look at porn on this thing, all the viruses on my computer, the thing didn't work at all. I still remember the exact day, it was a Saturday and my parents weren't home. I spent like 6 hours searching for the Spice Girls nude lol.

I remember trying to download old WWE titantrons over a 56k modem of websites, you could try and download 5-6 of them and you would be lucky if you were able to get two of them to downloand, and just one 4 minute video took a fukking hour.

And who remember trying to sign on to AOL during prime hours ? Hearing that busy signal was the worst. Some times it would take 30 minutes just to get through. But when you finally heard that modem sound it was like God shined down on you while you were busting a nut.

when my mom bought a new compaq pc in the christmas of 1997 i was like :krs:...it was set up in my father's home office which had its own phone number but no internet due to my prior "incidents" with doing bad things with my uncle's aol connection...i briefly used my neighbors aol account until his pops got a little mad at the charges that popped up on his bill..enter netzero (back when it was truly free)...i remember downloading netzero onto 6 different floppy disks at my hs lab then installing them shyts...dialed in..free internets :blessed:...it was pretty fast for the time too..i was connecting at 47-50k (downloading stuff at 7-10K :whoo:) and it made only a minor increase on the actual phone bill that my dad ignored...first big win :win:..from netzero i went on to discover emulators, mp3s, and napster and i never looked back

:wow:man kids today really just don't know my brehs and brehettes
