I had a whole site with every hip hop cd on there, I burned them to disc too.
I was amazed, I was late onto d/l as well, I only started in 2002 and I had the net since 1999.
I was one of the last Mohicans on dial up
-Looking at piff on a dial up connection....then you hear that door knob turn 
-Trying hard as hell to click that X with nothing happening with this look on your face
-making a last ditch effort and hitting that power strip turning off the whole damn computer
-Getting asked what you're doing....because you're just sitting there silent looking at a now blank screen
-Coming up with an excuse of "I thought I turned it on"
-Your heart is beating a mile a minute
-Trying hard as hell to click that X with nothing happening with this look on your face

I remember first time i got the internet it was this
service called Errol's 
shyt was terrible...then finally got AOL in 96 or 97, still have my e-mail address to this day as my junk address. I remember all the old hip hop sites, Tha-ish.com (anybody remember this??) , old school 
circa 2000-2001 , allhiphop forums, mic chats where ppl would b freestylin lololol, forums where ppl would have text battles Shieeeet, I remember the first time one of my boys put me on to napster i thought there was some kind of catch involved cuz it was too good to be true. I remember all i ever wanted to do was drink cokes, eat popcorn, fap to porn, and d/l songs on my napster playlist n listen while they were mid-dl (remember playin a track when it was only at like 3% cuz u were so hyped to hear it??)....Oh and then limewire let you d/l movies
that was a game changer, first time i ever witnessed a horse fukk a woman was on that bytch. AOL really had the game on lock tho in middle school/HS. The first thing i'd do when i got home was login to AOL/AIM n talk to bytches. As a matter of fact, my username, Mouseteeth, was a AOL screen name me n my boys use to use to troll girls in middle school lololol. Remember AOL profiles?? I wonder if mine still exists, I had mad random punchlines from rappers quoted on that shyt. Also inverting the color on the screen to view hidden messages. Man, those were the days.
Getting a cable connection in the summer of 99 was revolutionary. My d/l's increased exponentially to the point where i'd have to get a new computer like every other year because they'd get so overrun with spyware lol. Man, way too many memories....
we were one of the first to get AOL when it started, workin with a 14.4 modem
the initial AOL service plan was 5 hours a MONTH
there was barely any WWW tho. all you could do was read news, sports scores, and download shareware games and maybe make some travel plans
I made up a box out of towels and storage containers that id put the modem in late nights so you could barely hear it
had holes cut out for the wires and all that. The first creak id hear from the stairs and id pull the entire power cable out of the wall, was not taking chances.
i honed my AIM and AOL chat room game to god like levels. used this experience later in life on POF and
like a king for many years
