Their GM has already said he wants to build through the draft like OKC, he was apart of their organization and he liked how they did it. Same with the Spurs. He wants to reach the bottom, in order to reach the top. Thats why there was no interest in Gasol or Bynum, all they were looking for was some young talent, some picks, and cap relief. They got all of those things. The Nets deal was never going to happen as long as Brook Lopez is involved. If you're a rebuilding team, you dont pay Brook max. What Atlanta had to offer was too good as well, they werent looking for star players, the GM literally wanted to start fresh from the bottom.

With 3 protected pics? :what:

theyre more concerned with their own picks...if they can get 2 top 10 picks over the next 2 years..theyll be right on their away...not to mention those picks can be trade fuel down the line

Houston had more picks to offer, so something must have went sour along the way...cause they probably could have offered a better packag

:smh: I'm legitimately angry no furious right now . Man fukk the NBA, this shyts rigged :smh: I'm DONE!!!

whoa whoa whoa calm down my fellow ATLien.......yes better trades where presented but what you guys don't understand is that the magic DON'T want to win right now.......they'll have a top 5 pick for the next 3 yrs, plus the picks they aquired....they are trying to build like the thunder......

in 2013 they'll either get either Noel or Muhammed.....even zeller as a last resort

in 2014 they will get a bonafide all star in either Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins...

and in 2015 they'll get another lotto pick......

all the pieces he were presented weren't gonna take him deep in the playoffs, Al and Teague are not the answer

If Dwight tells Atl, Hou, & Phi he wont resign. why would those teams make a trade for him?

Nobody else is amazed at the Lakers protecting their pick? They already had raped them, then they have the nerve to protect a pick that will never be a lottery pick anyway. They raped them and left zero dna.

I respect Mitch gully. :obama:

3 straight years in the lottery for a team going into a new arena.
:snoop:

The problem is in order to replicate OKC's success is you have to hit EVERY pick out the park AND draft potentially a top 3 player for the next 10 years.
:deadrose:

On the other hand, Bynum in a weak Eastern Conference where the #1 team starts Joel Anthony at center is a perennial 2nd round playoff team at worst.
:ehh:

Reality is you're not winning a title in the NBA without a top 5 player in the league. There's 32 teams in the league. You just traded away the best center in the game and its doubtful you're drafting anybody in the next 3 years who will be on the level of Lebron, Durant, Howard or Westbrook. Which means at the end of the day you're probably looking at a best case scenario of perennial 2nd round playoff team only you're going to suck for 2-3 years in a bad sports town before you even get to that level.

That whole rebuilding through the draft idea is just the dumbest shyt ever. Just because it worked for OKC doesn't mean it's foolproof. :snoop:

This dumb GM really thinks he is gonna get a Durant/Westbrook/Harden trio with rookie deals when he has a greater chance ending up with average players and overpaying the few free agents that will even consider playing for his wack ass franchise.
