R* struggles with story we all know that but to act like RDR2 from a gameplay and technical standpoint isn't genre defining is downright retarded...

And I must have amnesia because while I thoroughly remember enjoying SD I'm having trouble remembering what that game did from a gameplay standpoint to push the genre forward...

Shooting mechanics were ripped from Max Payne, hand to hand combat was ripped from the Arkham games...

Driving mechanics were about as bad as GTA3 with the handling code on if not worse...
RDR2’s beautiful visuals are saddled with archaic gameplay. :mjlol: at its outdated gamepkay being “genre defining.”

Why is that difficult to understand? You can't appreciate the visuals because they're undermined by the constant intrusion of outdated gameplay on your experience. Barely evolved from what was seen in past efforts, some people making a strong case that it has actually devolved, the gameplay of RDR2 is instructive of what happens when a developer makes enough money to not care about spending time on anything but superficial improvement. :francis:

Great game that I loved. Thread makes me wanna replay it. The fight clubs are where it's out. Felt like Neo in the matrix after mastering it. Legit beating down damn near two dozen goons without being touched feels godly. The game was just fun and didn't take itself too seriously. It was the perfect answer to GTA4 & Saints Row 3, the former of which took itself too seriously, and the latter which didn't take itself seriously enough.

That said, the world in Sleeping Dogs was nowhere near as interactive or alive as RDR2s. One can say what they will about the gameplay and pace of RDR2, but that open world had a pulse in a way other open worlds do not. Period. I do find it amusing that Sleeping Dogs city feels more alive than the cities/open worlds in games like Spider-Man & Assassins Creed Odyssey, both of which I enjoyed immensely.
