^ Reminds me of the flip-flopping/hatred ppl had for Wendy Bryde. People can only accept their antagonist as a flawed but understandable character. No one else gets that same level of empathy, especially if they are of the opposite gender.

At least Wendy earned her hatred for her performance. Laura Linney did an outstanding job with that role. I hated Wendy but I couldn't hate on Laura Linney. I never felt that way with Skylar. Hated her character and the performance from the actress, Anna Gunn.

I agree that female characters don’t get the benefit of nuanced humanity.

Which is why the wives in these shows get destroyed by the fans.

bytch was smokinh with the baby inside her
Get the fukk outta here fukk this bytch
She probably is responsible for Walter Jr’s condition too :pacspit:
Just watched that last week. “I smoked three cigarettes”. This is right after he lied about being in some daydream for days and having a second cell phone

I think a lot of people forget that his wife knows NONE of his drug dealing until season 3. Every single missing moment is filled with lies from Walt out blue, after 20 years of marriage.

Then when he says he’s a drug dealer, it’s not like he had no option. He had a great job, a raise, probably stock options, full healthcare, and a rich donor. And when she gave Ted the money, it was so the feds didn’t investigate Walt, cause her name was on the papers. But yea ted was a mistake but he didn’t lie to her. And she had asked for a divorce earlier.

Let’s do it another way. Imagine it’s your wife. All the sudden she gone, she lying, she got another cell, she said she was in a coma, she said she went to her moms… you got this broad a 6 figure job with benefits and she say she turned it down to make meth. What y’all doing?

I’ve been rewatching all weekend. On Season 5 now.

Skylar’s a cheating bytch. But she’s a right cheating bytch :mjlol:

But at the end of the day she should have left him and went to the cops no matter the consequences. She wanted some of that power while Walt wanted that plus to be recognized as a GOAT chemist. True tragedy.

BB is one of the next shows I plan to rewatch, so I’ll pay more attention to her character. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t on the “fukk Skylar” wagon when it aired; I had to be neutral at least. :patrice:

But I definitely wouldn’t put her above Carmella Soprano. She was the WOAT. :camby:

She gave Walt the laziest handjoe on his birthday, refused to let him die with dignity after the cancer diagnosis, and despite loving him came across as emasculating.

So the first watch it was really easy to root for Walt.

I think in subsequent watches it becomes harder to root for Walt, because you see how much he is driven by his ego. I understand not taking the money from his former colleagues. I also understand cooking meth. He got to a point where he could have just sat back and chilled. But his ego became larger than life.

But when has it been cool to root against the protagonist of the show, or root for that bytch Flynn JR, or even worse, root for the Feds in the form of the DEA???

So it's still fukk Skyler.

Yeah I always thought this, she didn't deserve any hate. Walt was a prick. You rooted for him because you wanted to see what he would do to win in each situation but he was ruthless.

If he'd got his way he would have been a ruthless gray matter CEO, but it didn't go that way. But he still needed that power and notoriety.
