You're talking about upwards to $200K to do that in this economy, and people need to go look up the percentage of men making $200k+ a year. It's not realistic for 80%+ percent for men.

Your wife is gonna have to make some type of income if you make even above average money.

Women don’t get as much child support as many claim. When I looked at child support stats I was shocked at just how little it can be for some. And actually GETTING it is a whole nother ball game. I don’t even wanna get into some single moms I know who just give up because their ex husbands skips states, jobs, anything to avoid paying. I mean these stats show over half of these women are divorcees. Not just chicks letting randoms hit.
So it ain’t just on them.

Regardless of all the brouhaha, I still think a healthy monogamous relationship between two equally yoked people is the way to go. Personally I think it yields the best results for men, women AND children. But that doesn’t mean a lot of the bullshyt in traditional practices shouldn’t be addressed just because some egos are gonna get bruised. Nah.

Stats don't even make sense, 2/3rd of single mothers are white. 1/3rd is black. Where do Asians, Hispanics, Arabs and native American women fit into? So if your a single mother you're either black or white?

Just playing Devils advocate...wouldn't you agree that women have the final say-so if a baby will be brought into a single parent household? I mean you can't have it both ways - you can't say you want the absolute right to decide what happens with your body, like giving birth, but then turn around and blame somebody else if you decide to have a baby and you are single?

This is true. Only for a small period in the history of humanity (the 50s-80s), and localised to America, and again to middle class whites, has it ever been possible for a woman not to work unless they were wealthy lol.

Fortunately for me Texas is very fair as far as child custody is concerned. We are a defined joint custody state, meaning as long as the father wants to be in the childs life bare minimum a parent will get a 55/45 split on time and minimal child support. My child custody case is tricky because she wants to leave the state and go to California with my son(which judging by how our temporary order hearing went isn't happening). Right now she is technically the primary custodial parent since I left the marital residence(she initiated the separation though) but I have the 55 in the 55/45 as far as possession time goes so technically I should be the custodial parent, but until the final order is passed they won't change the designation.
