Let's make this clear FOX is never, never giving up X-MEN. That's huge franchise for them. They will never give it up. They will put Deadpool into X-MEN if they have to next film. They just locked down Fassbender and MacAvoy for more films. X-MEN is NOT going back to Marvel.

like was that supposed to get everyone hyped?

There was just certain things about these trailers, like revealing "bald xavier" and Jennifer Lawrence's poor acting in her rallying speeches, that were red flags early on.

The final trailer was the best one but even then, seeing the fight sequence between psylocke and beast... it already looked like phoned in acting performances but now it looked like more underwhelming fight scenes in addition. Everything else was just cgi stuff happening while characters struck poses or screamed for the camera.

Wonder how much of it has to do with Matthew Vaughn not having a hand in it? From what I understand, he wrote/directed First class and even though he left before it started filmin (to do Kingsmen), like 90% of his script was used in DoFP. Now with zero input from Vaughn, you have this.

The X-Men Universe isn't unnecessary for Fox. Deadpool made bank and now they have their new golden boy after Wolverine is done. If X-Men: Apocalypse flops then I'm betting they'll put Deadpool in the next X-Men movie. Besides Fox has until 2024 to put another movie in production, that's a long time to figure things out

Yeah, you can tell how a project will go by the langauge and caliber of actors in the lead roles. That being said, they did bring up Storm's hair as a significant connection to the audience...
