yeah I'm aware he was...but i wouldn't go that far to say he was liam. Leslie was a dramatic actor, yeah...but it has also been said he cracked jokes, pranks etc...so the comedy shyt came easy.
never really read/heard anything about Neesom being a jokester on set or cracking jokes in interviews

After thinking about it some more, he might make a funny movie, but I don't think it would be a "Naked Gun" movie as we know it.
It will end up being a "Taken" parody....which might be funny, but not in the same way as "Police Squad!"

Liam Neeson has done more comedy acting than Nielson before Airplane.
Its like saying Robert DeNiro isn’t funny before Analyze This came out.

another poster mentioned that seth flick...peeped a few clips and he wasn't really funny in it, when I think he was supposed to be.
neeson doesn't ooze the charisma leslie had to pull it off, IMO.
maybe you're right and he'll do fine...but from every interview/flick/etc I've seen he's jusat the oldguy who is never funny.

We just saw Neeson in Atlanta, Ted 2, and that Life is Short.
Leslie Nielson was aloof, which is what made it funny. It wasn’t a charismatic masterclass, he just gotta be aloof of his ineptitude.
i've seen some clips leslie's non comedic stuff before airplane and I thought he was charismatic
i'll admit I'm not too familar w/ Neeson's filmography...but before the taken films only thing I really seen him in was Ep1 and hw was even a prick there to Obi Wan
so I've always ween him as a douchey character in his films, thus why I don't hink he can pull off NG.

How they gonna do the Blue Oyster?A Police Academy reboot would be better with Steve taking over as Commandant of the academy.
I don't know how much they'd be able to get away with nowadays though.
