mann I don't think that sh!t is true. I remember way back in 04 like before the 04 all star game, they both were on the Sunday MTV Countdown, and Kg was like "yo its your boi KG, and I gots my mann T-Dizzle", and Duncan was just like yo. and now remembering back I was just waiting for Duncan to say "forshizzle" on sum Tiger Woods & Dave Chappelle sh!t. But, if they hate it each than thats even better for KG and Duncan stans to argue more.

WOULD HE STILL BE SEEN AS THE GOAT PF
IF THEY SWAPPED TEAMS/COACHES?

TIMMY IS THE GOAT PF,
BUT KG IS JUST AS GREAT OF A TALENT.

ONE JUST HAD A BETTER SITUATION THAN THE OTHER.
IM MATURE ENOUGH TO REALIZE THIS NOWADAYS.

5 YEARS AGO I WOULD HAVE BEEN shytTING ON KG.

Come on man. Duncan is a banger and KG is a sun-tanned euro, that's the difference. Lethal postgame high and low and dominating presence around the rim >>> floating around the perimeter shooting 18 foot jumpers. KG's game is prettier, but nowhere near as effective.

Plus Duncan is the close to Olajuwon as the best low post defender of the past 30 years. Could KG play Shaq 1-on-1 and contain him pretty well like Duncan did in the 03 playoffs?

Let's just pre-emptively dead this conversation before it even starts. Yeah, David Robinson was a great player, but he was clearly past his prime and lost some explosiveness. He was 34 when Duncan won his first ring. But he was still a very good player. However, their back court was Avery Johnson and a 36 year old Mario Elie. Think about that for a second. Duncan won a ring with a back court of Avery Johnson and a 36 year old Mario Elie.

On the 2nd one, Duncan pretty much just carried that team on his back. They had no viable consistent 2nd scoring option. The 2nd highest scorer on that team was David Robinson, 38 years old and averaging 13 points. That team wasn't much better than any of the Minnesota teams Garnett played with. It's not like Garnett had nobody. He had Wally Scerbiak, Billups, Gugliotta, Marbury, and Sprewell. Even Troy Hudson got off in the playoffs one time. Yet somehow Duncan kept getting rings and WCF appearances and Garnett kept losing in the first round.

Much is made of Parker and Ginobili, but let's not act like they were always all-star caliber players and didn't take development. The only time Duncan won with those two both being consistent all-around threats was 07. Ginobili came into his own in about 05. Before that he was an erratic spark plug off the bench who make some spectacular plays occasionally and a lot of wild, reckless mistakes too. Parker didn't develop a jumpshot until 07. Before that, he was just a slasher...a good slasher, but one-dimensional. That's why in 03 he got benched in the finals in favor of Speedy fukking Claxton, and in 04, the Lakers doubled Duncan and dared him to shoot open shots and he couldn't hit shyt.

The one constant was Duncan...he got it done 4 times with different supporting casts. KG couldn't carry a team as the man floating around the perimeter, playing euro ball shooting 18 foot rainbows. He didn't really start putting in work on the block consistently until he got on the Celtics. Let's not even talk about how Dirk abused him in the 03 playoffs. Dirk SONNED him...averaged 33 and 16 and was dunking on him and shooting jumpers in his face and they swept him. KG might be the GOAT 2nd option.

That's a better debate...KG vs. Dirk. And at this point, I'd put Dirk over him based on how he carried that team of aging role players to a title last year. If you want to talk about who's the best player since MJ retired, Duncan, Kobe, or Shaq, that's a conversation to have. Duncan vs. KG? Nah...not debatable.

Ok...Duncan is better than KG. But you're going to great lengths to discredit KG. It's a team game and yes, most of KG's team accomplishments fall short of Duncan's, but he's legit in his own right. The "how many rings you have" argument is a double edged sword. You prop up Dirk ring, yet u dismiss KG's as if he was a non factor. Is Kidd no good cause he won his ring as a 2nd or 3rd option? KG career is singular to KG only. U can't discount how great he is cause he falls short of the GOAT. U can put KG's stats, longevity, and impact up against most men who played his position in the history of the league, and he'll hold his own.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
what would have been different? Duncan was gonna make Minny warmer? Duncan was gonna make McHale a better GM? Duncan was gonna make Glen Taylor not resort to under the table moves to sign Joe Smith?

Your team might have kept Ray Allen for starters, considering Tim and Marbury weren't friends, and logically a shooter of Ray's caliber would have made a better pairing with a low-post deity.
