for me i have always like KG's game compared to Duncan's and even try to emulate Kg's game when I would play ball, but Duncan is just on another level though. I have KG as the second best PF, so I don't think it's bad to be second to Duncan. But, whose game was better as a whole, you gotta give it to Kg and he is much more versatile, but Duncan on that block and low post in his prime is something else though. Also, if we are going with who had the better MVP year, you gotta go with KG. Eventhough Duncan gots 2, but KG in 04 was a beast and was one of the most underrated MVP's of the decade. The dude was getting 24, 13, 5 with 1.5 steals and 2 blocks while also shooting 50% and close to 80% at the line. That might be one of the GOAT and most versatile MVP's years I have seen and witnessed. Duncan has had the better career due to the rings, but if we just remove the ring argument the comparison is much more closer and more debatable.

I cant believe fools are still debating TD vs KG!

This has to be the most debated topic in the last 15 years.

The kg vs. Duncan debate isn't even worth words anymore.

I'm turning my attention to this peanut butter and belly shyt in that SI piece:
Over the next three days—or two or maybe four, neither can remember—the two men swam and lay on the beach and ate, talking about life and family and priorities. Everything but basketball. Despite a difference of nearly 30 years, they connected in a way few athletes and coaches do. Today Popovich tears up just talking about it. "I really cherish that time," he says. "It was like an instant respect and understanding of each other. Almost like we were soul mates."

More:

This season, after an 11-year separation as Jackson moved from one team to another, seven in all, the two men are reunited in pursuit of another championship, and this is what Jackson has to say about Duncan: "I'm humbled to be able to say that Tim Duncan is a good friend of mine."

Dude got Stack Jack DA TEXAS DON just happy to break bread with DA GAWD.

In terms of the PF/C position: TD is clearly better than KG.

It's like comparing Jordan and Drexler, both were great but Jordan was clearly better.

Here is a partial list of the NBA players who dunked more often than Tim Duncan this season: Gordon Hayward, Landry Fields, John Wall, Byron Mullens, Trevor Booker.

Timmy's swag is his lack of swag.

17 The Myth

Two weeks ago, before Game 1 of the series against the Jazz, Popovich was asked whom he'd be starting at center, and he answered, "Tim Duncan, like we have for the last 15 years." And thus the lamest ruse in recent NBA history finally came to an end. After two decades of being called a power forward, of showing up on All-Star ballots as a power forward, of engendering debate about whether he's already the greatest ever at the four, the Spurs have come clean. Tim Duncan's a center. Always has been.

I was waiting for this. Victor Von Doom been asking if KG could guard Shaq in his prime like Duncan did..okay fine...so Duncan is a center then right? :usure:

Duncan was gonna make Minny warmer? Duncan was gonna make McHale a better GM? Duncan was gonna make Glen Taylor not resort to under the table moves to sign Joe Smith?
1. Read that article. He turns the heating up. It's an island thing. 2. Winning breeds confidence. 3. By giving McHale a star with a strong moral core to aspire to it's reasonable to postulate he may have treated his day job with something less akin to the seriousness required to guest star on Cheers.

timmay's the goat pf but i think some people kind of underrate kg to a point. like he was some empty stat machine in minny. nah, dude was a beast. his mvp season was crazy good.

yeah, duncan's the better player and had a better career but he's also had better coaching and better teammates overall. once kg got all-star/hof teammates in boston, he went to 2 finals. :manny:

the way i see it is duncan could carry an offense better as a 1st option (a more willing and skilled post player, although kg's is good when he uses it) and thus do more in the playoffs when the defenses got tighter than kg could, plus he was clutch as hell. that's the biggest thing that separated them. defensively, they played different styles but i think they were fairly close. kg could cover more ground and be more versatile and disruptive while duncan held down the post/paint better.
