The United States is not an ally to Ukraine. The Trump admin is telling them that our aid is conditional, not a blank check. Hence when Zelensky spoke last time saying he thought it was a grant, not a loan. He got into hot water saying that.

Trump isn't saying "bend over and take it". He's telling Zelensky they cannot win this war. The US is not directly involved and won't be giving money forever. Negotiate whatever peace you can now because any ongoing war is just going to result in more dead Ukrainian men. 4 years ago we had idiots on this very forum saying Russia can't beat Ukraine and now Ukraine is only in one piece because the US is around.

When your survival relies on an outside entity, you do whatever it takes to keep it that way. It may sound unfair, but its a hell of a lot better than being wiped from existence.
Americans (Trump) want 50% of Ukraine's minerals, that's rape, modern day colonization

This war started after USA pushed for NATO military expansion into Ukraine (a nation that sits at the Russian border). Remember the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 was triggered when USA put nuclear missiles in Italy and Turkey, prompting the Soviet Union to place nuclear weapons in Cuba.

bullshyt. They’re saying take the deal that is extremely favorable to Russia or go fukk yourself.
Not to mention this flies in the face of the 70 years of United States foreign policy in regards to Russian aggression.

for decades we sold protection from the Russians to all of Europe as a condition for letting us get our trade deals off and put our military bases in their region.

We founded the neoliberal order of the west on this promise.

its pure fakkitry and cowardice for Trump and couch fukker to deal in bad faith and play us like fools with this insulting bid for “peace” with absolutely no guarantees to hold the Russians accountable for further aggression.

europe can't allow russia to grow it's borders closer to them. better to deal with them now than later since they are weaker and farther from their borders.

europe tried to placate russia and bring them into the fold by buying their oil and gas but russia was basically using that as leverage until they said fukk your leverage and started getting their energy needs met elsewhere.

if a war between europe and russia pops off, the american economy will take a hit since we'll be seling way fewer goods and services to countries at war, airline industry will basically be inoperable in that region. we'll see a huge refugee crisis too.

What’s crazy is that Russia is basically a third world country with nukes. Makes zero geopolitical sense for the U.S to pick Russia over the European Union, but little of what Trump and Musk makes much sense from an economic or geopolitical perspective. The GDP of the EU is 29 trillion vs 2 trillion for Russia. Per capita is $40,000 vs $15,000. Like what the hell are we supposed to sell to Russia? :heh:

It’s like everything Trump and Musk are doing is like a calculated effort to weaken the country on all fronts. Destroy the economy, isolate the country and align us with despots.

I say this as someone who has been critical of U.S hegemony.

I doubt they're even capable of shame :francis:
Probrably built up a strong tolerance and indifference. As a proud bothsider nonvoter I can say I persoanlly I have from the habitual gaslighting and shame tactics. It's weird you wouldn't think someone insulting you or misrepresenting your position constantly would actually make you a better person but it did. If anything it shows how desperate people are to get a reaction. Sometimes I even get a good genuine laugh and chuckle out of their attempts.

It’s well documented that Georgia attacked South Ossetia first and that the West orchestrated the overthrow of Yanukovych.

It’s childish to view America as innocent and Russia as a mindless aggressor.
And it's childish how you view Russia as innocent.

Kenya couldn’t wage war like Russia is. Neither could Peru or other ‘Third World Countries’.

Russia’s securocrats have created a very interesting state with Russia. Russia has existed for 1000 years for a reason
