After tonight it's safe to say it should be one night. Trim the fat.
Right, people talking about it’s spreading the crowd energy better but the crowd is just as dead tonight as they would have been if it was one long night.

However, night 2 was lackluster and there was no big moment that gave the crowd a chance to wake up

1 night. Nobody on earth can book two nights of a super card in the 20s. Not the E or NJPW. Neither product support this kind of show

Triple threat would've fit in perfectly with night 1.

It's a shame it took so long to get to the good stuff.:manny:

the way that they try to get every active wrestler on the show its better to have 2 nights, but the best scenario would be 1 night with only 8 matches :manny:

I take my vote back. Two nights is better, I forgot about making sure the women get their share of time.
To me it should be two nights long as it’s a brand split tbh and the roster is this huge . However they need to make sure they try and limit the unnecessary matches so it’s not crazy watered down

There's essentially two brands now and women's division is more plentiful and competent (for the most part) than ever before, so two nights just makes sense to get enough shine for everyone and not bloat the shows. 7-8 hours spreads well over two nights. Even 5 hours is a bit much for 1 night and it's too many good potential match ups for the big show to only splice them down to 3-4 hour formats anymore.

If they did one night now, a lot of good matches would get left out and I doubt they could put enough women matches on the card as well, as either they'd really stifle men's division in trying to even the odds or short change the women's entirely. As it is now, even with two nights, some great talent still gets left out.

I would prefer one night so I wouldn’t have to put other shyt off on a Saturday night.

It's one weekend of an entire year, duke. I'm sure you can manage.

Last year it didn't work and it didn't work this year. I get why they have two nights, but everyone can't make it onto the card. It is what it is.

It was 2 nights and shinsuke, mysterio, hardy, street profits, the damn smackdown tag team champions were left off the card :picard: too much important talent. Imagine telling your workhorses they're being left off the most important show of the year.

And that's without goldberg/lesnar/cena/hhh/charlotte/becky/bayley having matches as well

1 night. 8 matches.

if u don't make the card that year then oh well :hubie:

But see, people will say this and when guys they like don't get a spot, that'll be the next big complaint...

The roster is huge at this point. And sure, not everybody should make the cut but I feel like most of the people who were in matches this year deserved to be on it, so who do you cut? shyt, people were mad about the Andre Battle Royal and the SD tag titles didn't make the cut. If they had, that woulda made it 16 matches. So in cutting it down to 8, I can't realistically say there's 8 matches that I woulda cut.

Back in the 80s/early-90s, they were able to fit like 14 matches on a 4 hour show, but they were also shorter matches which were OK with the crowd because you didn't get stars vs. stars every week on TV, so it all felt special. The longest matches on the show would be maybe over 10 minutes, close to 20 if it was the main event. Everything else would be between 3-7 minutes. Imagine how much bytching would go on now if they crammed a bunch of 5 minute matches into Mania.

All I know is that 7-hour shyt had to go. If it works better to do two 3 hour shows and not burn a crowd out or have people up late, so be it.
