They are gonna force so many unnecessary matches anyways so it’s better split in half then dealing with all that one in one day.
Even without trying to fit everyone on the card, there's simply too much "important" talent on the roster to fit on one show and give everyone an adequate amount of time. Even this year, they had to relegate the jobber Battle Royale to Smackdown and the SD tag titles aren't on the card.
Looking at night one, they only match that could have flat out been cut is the Tag Team Turmoil. Night Two has like no fat at all as it's all title matches and matches with top talents. Now imagine trying to have all of this on one night. You're either going to short change a couple matches, or piss people off by relegating some of them to the preshow. Unless the roster gets smaller, two nights is probably more practical.

1 night, it's supposed to be a special once-in-a-year attraction, being two nights doesn't really have the same luster
And then you add in the 3 hour RAW the following night on top of that and it can just get exhausting

combine the best from yesterday wit the best of today, and then you have your card.
this is strictly a money making move, not about presenting the best show
they dont combine their best material. they combine their favorites/
cesaro/rollins would not have happened on a 1-night mania.
This. I would hate having to have gone to any WM in the past 5 years or so1 night. 8 matches.
