It’s wild how people shyt on these low wage jobs like McDonald’s and Walmart yet these establishments continue to be some of the most profitable companies in the world

Like chappelle said ain’t nobody trying to pick their own strawberries….yet got every answer on why someone else shouldn’t be either
That is probably one of the greatest tricks of capitalism. Have people fight among each other while ignoring companies exploiting workers.

Fast food law passed in California this year makes it so fast food workers make $22/hour minimum.

$22 a hour. For any fast food workers. 16 year olds out here can work for $22/hour. They just dont want the jobs.

1) thats more than base pay at corporate jobs like verizon, banks, tmobile, at&t etc.

2) they still cant find workers.

Its not a hourly issue. Kids just lazy as fukk.

Most fast food workers are not working full time.

All full time positions should reflect the cost of living in that state. And the people saying those jobs shouldn’t be long term don’t realize there is only so much room for everyone in a field, or income bracket. There are far more minimum wage jobs than higher earning positions. Plus, you have people who may not have the time to go to college, because they have to afford rent, or help family. And this is coming from a personal responsibility guy.

People used to be able to afford rent and groceries making 1.68/hr. So explain why it's wrong now?

IMO, you shouldn't expect to support a family on a fast food salary. But supporting yourself (ie 1 person) is not unreasonable. It used to be normal.

So for all the people saying "no", explain why it's wrong now, but was right before.

The cost of living is also higher in California. You make $22 an hour in Texas you can live a pretty decent life.

If you're working 40 hours a week in America doing anything... ANYTHING.. you deserve those things
it use to be that way for a lot of people. some dude could work as a butcher, buy a house for his family, have two cars and the family goes on vacation every summer.

janitors use to be able to put their kids through college.
