Should a person making food at McDonalds be able to afford rent and groceries with their paycheck?

For all you people that parrot the "McDonald's jobs are for teenagers" shyt, you do realize that these restaurants don't wait till school let's out to open right?

The idea that teenagers working part time are holding up the entire workload of these restaurants is hilarious

it’s a low skilled job that is associated with teenagers. We don’t go to school to work at McDonald’s

Also raising wages does not fix anything if the people that own the property set whatever price they want.

Bay Area
are you insane? the cost of living in some cali cities is 35 dollars an hour
…and? Are you saying jobs at mcdonalds and wendys should afford to live in those cities? The surrounding areas of those cities dont cost that much to live in. California is a very large state. That law will be state wide. Cali is more than just LA/SF

Plus california has plenty of rent control laws for low income people on top of many assistance programs.

In McDonald's regional revenue breakdown, the U.S. accounted for roughly 8.7 billion U.S. dollars in revenue in 2021. Meanwhile, internationally operated markets such as Australia, France, Canada, and the UK made the largest overall contribution to McDonald's total revenue, with a sum of 12.09 billion U.S. dollars.

But how will Mcdonalds survive wage hikes :sadbron:

The idea of a corporation grossing a few less billion so that the general population can do a little better, shouldn't bother you. If it does, you're a worm

Again

Who's working these teenage jobs when the teenagers are at school? Who's opening? Who's working overnight?

People who are working part time to supplement their salaries or people in retirement who need a few extra dollars or who want to still interact with people.

But any upwardly mobile adult shouldn’t be working here outside of managerial roles.

Cap.

A 4 for $4 is way cheaper.

Pull up any menu.

You cannot eat like a king for 8-12 at a Mexican restaurant.

Not really. There is a reason why the Dollar menu is called the Value menu nowadays and sit-down chain restaurants be having some GOOD deals.

This is exactly what it is. We can be wild condescending to a lot of the jobs that hold society together. Nikkas really see fast food workers as dirt and don't even try to hide it

And yes nikkas have dreams about being the boss and coming through stuntin on nikkas and barking orders
Fast food could go away and America would get healthier. Stop acting like its loss would destroy society
