Shock was a 1 of 1, but it was from a time when cats were super adventurous with their sound. That song always sonically reminded me of 3 Ft High & Rising and thematically of Parliament/Funkadelic.

On an artistic level, the beautiful thing about the video was that you had cats like Biz Markie, LL and Eazy E in the vid. Like this guy who wore the Groucho nose and glasses wasn't exactly in the same lane as them, but they knew he had a wave and saluted accordingly. I'm sure one of - if not all of them toured with DU around this time too.

Shock g man I was just thinking few weeks ago, he pretty quiet and low key I was hoping he was good. This is a horrible last few days. We losing a lot of brothers man, I’m just depressed. Rip humpty

Seen him on IG numerous times in the past year, some videos he seemed to be kinda bugging out a bit, I don’t know if high or drunk but I remember some people asking him in the comments if he was good. Thought he was just being Shock, that creative genius type of dude who was a bit different to the others.

Real sorry to lose Shock, it’s becoming a sad sad year for the culture.
