Californ-i-a by way of BK
The scuffle happened before they got on stage. There set even got delayed because they couldn’t get on stage on time so les delayed it. That’s when the shyt was happening. You can even tell something was going down if you look at when mobb deep comes out and towards the end how lake is acting... you might have caught the stuff after they performed. Nas was even confused and was asking les what happened to the original set... now the actual details of who got washed and who didn’t is something I don’t know. Both sides say they got their shyt off. What is amazing is after all that, prodigy got on stage and was professional and showed out with his performance. Nothing better than to get into an aggressive situation and come out and spit that gangster shyt that could have been aimed at anybody but particularly to lake at that point. Lol
Prodigy said Kelis recorded the whole thing

Above the fray.
Lol I doubt Lake would care because nobody touched Lake
Prodigy had a clever way to describe stories where the guy who made him take an L looks like he took the L.hahahaha

"when Keith Murray punched me in the face, my first thought was he hits like a girl"

I LOVED THAT BOOK. rest in peace,Prodigy

He never said anyone did. According to P, Lake iniated it by saying these nikkas think they gangsta, get everybody to the gate. He started it and when his ppl who had Littles, Ron Do and crew outnumberee got handled, he didnt jump in, he sat back and watched his ppl get beat up.

I listened to the first 3 mobb deep albums when they came out, and for some reason I didn't remember him calling out Murray by name

Here is P and Murray performing together performing their verses from "I shot ya"......

Murray speaks about the song & this performance here

The song was a bonus from hell on earth that supposedly had to be unlocked with a computer.

1. Prodigy was too nice. People in general are too generous with their kindness. The ruthless people in this world, it’s a reason they’re ruthless. They ain’t wake up monsters. Once upon a time they were *too* nice. Once he gave out them concert tickets to them, they immediately saw him as food

2. Sherm is lying/covering up for Lake. Its what homies are supposed to do. Lake definitely planned it for Sherm to knock P out. He even admits it in his Prodigy diss record “Dont Do It”. Sherm saying “Lake had no clue I was gonna knock him out” was the giveaway. Why say that out of nowhere

3. Havoc’s fear of them QB nikkas was stronger than his love for P. Which taints the Mobb Deep legacy a bit

4. Cormega looks funny in this situation

Hav most likely wanted to keep all those dirt bags at arms length. He didn't even give them tickets to the show or care that they couldn't get in the club. :heh:

He's known these nikkas since grade school so he knew their characters. I've never heard any drama for Hav in all these years.

P on the other hand, was infatuated with the streets and wanted to be accepted by all the QB goons...especially Lake's crew which seems to have had the most pull in the PJs.

Same thing as Pac dying trying to impress and fit in with some dirt bags from Compton.

Lake is living a totally different life now and doesnt wanna be associated with this type of shyt, its why he doesnt do interviews anymore and completely dissapeared. Sherm honors him by protecting him from it

What is Lake doing now?

That was a rumor because Mega looked like he didn’t want to be there in an interview they did for their joint album.
As I understand it, Mega did the album with Lake as a favor. Lake was being grimey and not paying the producers which Mega didn’t agree with.
Yeah I remember Mega talking about this on his old website about 10 years ago.

I haven't heard Lake speak on it, but so the story goes--Lake was trying to raise some money for someone locked up, so he was basically going to use whatever money he could get from a rap deal to do it. He tried to reach out to Nas, but for whatever reason Nas wasn't fukin with him. He then reached out to Mega and Mega agreed to do it. In the course of all of this Lake was using Mega's music/business connections. Mega is a street nikka turned business/gentleman, so he was basically straight as an arrow in the music business and built good, solid professional relationships with people. Lake is still a straight up street nikka, and he conducts business like one. So when it came time to pay people, like these producers...he basically handled it like a street nikka and didn't pay them and got on some "see me in the street then" QB goon type shyt. Mega basically responded on some :gucci::snoop: and said he wasn't fukin with dude like that anymore as far as music goes). I think Mega had to clean it all up. Lake aint been heard from since.

I don't know if this is all of the details of how things went down, but this is how I remember it unfolding when Mega spoke on it back in 08/09
