S.M.B 4 EVER
I had the first game for the Dreamcast and had part two with the OG XBOX. I haven't had a system since XBOX 360, and I wanted this to come out on XBOX ONE I just went out bought a PS4 and Shenmue III from Best Buy today just for this game. Even though I feel a certain way of purchasing a PS when they were the ones that kind of killed Sega in my eyes, but hey for 18 years, this game was calling me to want to whip on Lan Di.

Game is getting butchered in reviews, most of which confirm what I said would be the case with this game and like clockwork, the arcadium Stans say reviews don't matter and this game wasn't for everyone to begin with. :mjlol:
So...do you at least kill lan di finally or what? From what I read, the story barely progresses at all in the end.

he has been hating on this game for a while now
propping up yakuza while shytting on shenmue like he is trying to sway our opinions or something.
anyway from what i've seen ,the game is currently at 70% at metacritic.
this is not exactly what i'd call 'butchering'.
what is very interesting and not surprising is that the game is getting around 90% from fan reviews
whatever though, i'm enjoying the game.

Ya’ll prefer nostalgia over progress. :yeshrug:
If you like it that’s cool. Don’t take the jokes too seriously, in the end what like doesn’t effect me in the slightest. :skip:

Exactly bro. This game is very 'Shenmue' which is what the fans of it wanted

you a cool poster,so you not liking a game i absolutely love doesn't really affect me much
personally i do enjoy hearing different opinions.

i don't agree with your first sentence though.i love progress, but i also love to get what i paid for.
and i knew that this would be a continuation of a series, so why would i expect a shenmue game to play like a halo game or a metal gear solid game or whatever you guys expected it to be. this is not yakuza.
i'm surprised that so many so called knowledgeable people (game reviewers) did not expect shenmue 3 to be a continuation of shenmue 1 and 2.
if you say your a gamer and you pay attention to gaming, you should by now have known what you were gonna get from shenmue.

Hasn't it been 18 years? Many people wouldn't have played the originals. Many won't wanna play the re-releases either. I'm curious if they finish this story. I don't expect a direct sequel with close to 20 years between games is gonna sell well. This was also said not to conclude the story. It still is likely facing a scenario where the story is never concluded if sales don't justify making more.

Making direct sequels to video games that require playing the previous game is typically not a good idea. You limit your audience by default.

Thanks. I was tempted to get it today but after hearing all the lukewarm feedback. . I might wait for a price drop first.

It plays and feels EXACTLY like the previous Shenmue games. It feels like a HD remake of a game we never played. If you went through the journey of playing the first two games, you owe it to yourself to continue the game

You know what you're getting into when you play a Shenmue game, and III is no different. Go cop that shyt breh.

Shenmue 3 is my GOTY. I beat the game and I loved it. Not better than Shenmue 2 but better than Shenmue 1. @Kamikaze Revy agenda to discredit Shenmue while propping up Yakuza doesnt work on me. I enjoy both games for different reasons.
I played Yazkua 0. Great game but it felt like an arcade version of Shenmue. It was more action based than exploration/story driven.
