They didn't actually clarify which generation though. perhaps if this was released in 2015 it would be a more accurate statement :jbhmm:

This doesn't bode will for Xbots

Either this game's underwhelming reception will put pressure on Bethesda to release ES:VI earlier than they wanted to, in which case they'll have to use the current engine with all its jank

OR

They'll have to push it back several years while they come up with a brand new engine for it

It still wouldn't. The Witcher 3 absolutely destroyed Fallout 4 that year, and also featured a voiced protagonist and mo-capped NPCs without sacrificing a single RPG element (which was the excuse given for why Fallout 4 was completely stripped of its RPG choices)

They said they’ll be playing it for 10 years, looks like it will be another generation before they get another one
