Structural issues have already been mentioned. The long layoff, inability to properly practice, on the fly changes to season length and who qualifies for the playoffs. Then all teams having to be quarantined in a bubble in Orlando or Las Vegas for months. What does that have to do with an asterisk if the season is resumed..... Will asterisks apply to MLB/NHL champs as well?

But the biggest thing is players putting their health and lives on the line.
I could get with this if there hasn't been 50 percent games more played than the lockout season...... and with a proper preliminary to the restart of the season, I can't foresee any real issues.. .there are professionals... these guys make impromptu teams with very lil practice and compete and win against the worlds best every 4 years.... I haven't heard about the play in idea... that sounds like it might suck.. and typically, the first round of the playoffs is the least entertaining of the offs genuinely speaking....
These guys are saying players and staff would have to be comfortable with possible positive tests, breh. So imagine this: playoffs start, a star gets the rona and is out 2 weeks minimum. Team gets swept. shyt, it takes 2 weeks sometimes for symptoms to show up. Are you telling me that, god forbid, a LeBron, AD, Kawhi, Giannis, catch this shyt in the conference finals or the finals and their team loses that fans of that team aren't going to view the championship with an asterisk? I get it, professional sports are played to crown a winner, and millions of revenue dollars have been lost, but there are far too many moving pieces to complete this season, imo
So then you have 2 ruined seasons instead of 1. No one is taking a ring this year seriously anyways after a 2 month layoff. Too much momentum has been lost.I say finish this season up...Then if the Carona comes back during the Fall, skip next season.
"Any team that wins this year, there's an asterisk. They're not going to get the respect."
Bron and his Stans:
It's no way they'd be able to keep it a secret if a player were to test positive. You aint wrong.... but you're using common sense...... I'm under the impression that it will not be revealed that a major star tested positive for Covid 19 until after the conclusion of the playoffs....... said player would have been asymptomatic the entire playoffs and considered a non threat.......that's how they're gonna have to roll if this is going to work......

And Adam Silver would not only immediately lose all the goodwill, and positioning he had as a leader among the pro sports leagues, for how he handled this in the first place, but he would never survive the backlash he'd receive. The league owners would make him the scapegoat quick fast like Ramadan. You aint wrong.... but you're using common sense...... cuz people including players relatives are dying from this shyt
Bron and his stans wanna win so damn bad they don't give a shyt about human life
disgusting
Full of shyt by calling them an asterisk champ. We don't call the 98-99 Spurs asterisk champs. The year was suspended meaning at some point, things were going to resume.
Spurs dealt with asterisk talk for years. If only went away because they validated it with 4 more rings.Dumb logic. Did the Spurs have an asterisk when they played the short season with the lockout?
