If they fired keyshawn why would he have to take a buyout?

They were still gonna pay him the rest of his deal until it was over. He took a buyout so he can work at FS1 right away. He will still make the 18 million he is owed, but some of that money will be from his new FS1 contract.

So that initial tweet that stated ESPM owed him every dollar was wrong all along and it was the same contract format that other talent had previously. Other people in the entertainment world don’t get to double dip, so it never made sense that he would as well.

Non-compete clause?

I’m ASSUMING since they were still paying his full salary maybe that means he couldn’t work for the competition for a certain amount of months. Since he’s going directly to FS1 they probably had to negotiate a one time severance payment

That's what Skip and SAS was... Two people overacting with facial expressions, yelling, over the top takes, and fukkery and it was the highest ratings either show has ever had

Plus, this may have helped ESPN since it would be less money that was owed to Keyshawn. For example, if FS1 gave Keyshawn 14 million for 4 years, the contracts would offset and ESPN would just pay him the remaining 4 million outright. This would saved money for Disney while Key can work immediately at a new network. Works for both parties.

It was also said that was part of the reason why they wanted to bring in Doc as well since Philly still owes him money. I think people forget that double dipping doesn't happen in those industries like that.

You're right... the highest show SAS ever had was 561k a week, Skips was 475k a week

Problem is, Skip was on ESPN2 and they had to move SAS to the main channel just to finally do those numbers that Skip was doing in 2011
