Breh... the “happy drunk” speech from Frank, and his reaction to watching Fiona have a nervous breakdown at the Alibi, was my favorite Shameless moment in years. The fukking pain/understanding/fear in Frank’s eyes...
Hard to watch. But dammit this show can be flat-out excellent when it gives a damn about more than fukkery-related hijinks.

Ive been "the happy drunk" before. Nothing like Franks life, but Ive drank too much at various points of my life and did stupid shyt. It was pretty much always easily fixable, but I never drank to get over any personal trauma or insecurity. I just liked the feeling of being drunk. Because of that I could go several months or years without drinking and not even notice it.
If I ever had one drunk experience doing anything that Fiona has done in this past season I would never drink again.

Franks alcoholism is merely a byproduct of his awfulness. He's an irresponsible piece of shyt who couldn't care less about his kids. Drugs and alcohol are just his fukkery instruments.
Put him in a different environment and hell just find a non alcoholic way to be awful.

its gotta be a tough pill to swallow for fiona where her single mom 19 year old younger sister is far more responsible than her while bossing her around and basically being in charge of the house.
but it kinda makes sense cuz back when the show first came out, little deb was taking care of all the kids when she was like 10 years old while fiona was out partying and shyt. so, that's why she ended up so responsible.

Carl has had his basic personality changed at least four times in this show. Young Carl had the same fearlessness and resiliency Frank has.
Debbie ain’t responsible breh lol, she just happens to be their current boss.
