Ok... so shouldn't it be called "Shaft 2" or "Shaft Returns" or "Shaft Generatons" or "Shaft Legacy" or something like then?

I think the initial title was something similar to that. I’m sure they focused group tested it to death and they ended up just on shaft. Probably the same reason the new Star Wars movies don’t really play into the episode shyt anymore. Makes younger audiences feel like they missed something and “need to catch up” or that it’s too daunting etc etc

the 70s was named shaft the 00s was named shaft so calling this just shaft isnt bad

and as far as the grandpa... I dont think Sam raised him so he couldve grew up with his mom and thinking Richard was gramps... maybe Sams dad died young and Uncle Richard raised him so he considers him pops.. it could work . or am i reaching

They shouldn't have made it a comedy.

BTW,This is pretty much what the Beverly Hills Cop reboot would have been,but at least the original is a comedy. The classic 1971 version of Shaft wasn't a comedy...It's as if the director saw the popularity of The Hitman's Bodyguard and decided to make Shaft the same type of movie.

This movie is gonna be good and funny. Some of you dudes nitpick and complain about the smallest and dumbest shyt. My moms was a fan of the original in the 70’s, and the 2000 sequel and she geeked as hell about this one . Just enjoy and appreciate the black excellence brehs.

The Sam Jackson 2000 version had comedy....but it was natural. Thats a legit funny movie, but it still had some realism to it.

Undercover Brother looks more serious than this movie

High key Malcolm D.Lee would have been a much better choice for director if they wanted to go the comedy route as well
