We literally just watched this happen to The Black Keys and Pink. Justin Timberlake struggled to sell tickets too, but didn't have to cancel his tour. This is what happens when private equity gets involved in anything: they start cutting costs or making insane spending decisions hoping to hit it big. In this case a lot of labels have decided partially selling an arena tour is more lucrative than selling out a smaller tour. Of course this is nonsense given the costs of arena tours VS smaller venues but hey...smartest people in the room right?

And why they shouldn't be involved in most aspects of the music or film industries. Their interests don't align with artists. All they're doing is polishing the nicest turd of debt possible for future sale or consolidation.

If SexyRedd is your artist, your goal should be to break through to white listeners (specifically white women) while also maintaining her popularity amongst black women/girls. Smaller tour venues may not be the financial grand slam the venture equity people want but it helps build the fanbase and gets her on radio interviews throughout the country. I'm skeptical white chicks are even gonna fukk with her enough to truly blow up though, so that's the main thing her people should be discussing.
