Seriously, why do you lift? Why do you work out?

I used to drink all the time and decided I needed to do something better with my time. Now it's strictly for health and lifestyle.

Yeah, I still drink a lot. But I get in the gym to offset some of the negative effects of the beers.

Plus, I like lifting weights and running (when the weather is decent).

That thread about the homie wanting to jump on the juice got me thinking about this.

I want to look better and all that... def doesn't hurt but that's no big deal to me. I lift mainly because I just enjoy lifting. Going through the motions, tracking progress etc. is all very fun for me. I don't think I will ever be a big huge dude... and frankly I don't want to be. I've been skinny most of my life and have small joints... if I can maintain 17" arms and a <30" waist I will be happy.

Because being skinny sucks. Clothes don't fit right at all, having narrow shoulders, no ass, etc.... it fukking sucks. I've almost always been "the hot guy" in whatever circle I've been in except when I stop lifting and let myself lose weight and whenever that happens it takes a toll on my confidence. :manny:

I work out because two reasons. I want to look great naked. I remember I was on this date with this girl it was the first date and she said she wanted a strong black man and I'm pretty sure because I was not in shape she didn't become mine. This happened almost two years ago and it still plagues my mind. So I'm getting super strong with godlike aesthetics so no female will ever be able to deny that I'm a strong black man.

Second reason was because I was yoked up in front of A LOT of people by some large meat headed white boy earlier this year. I couldn't do shyt. He was at least pushing the upper 200s with a raw combination of muscle and bulk while I was barely pushing 200 if even that. That is never going to happen again in my life, ever, without some kind of serious repercussions, meaning the other person will suffer incredible bodily harm. I pray I find him again because even now I made all types of gains and I'd love for him to try that shyt once more. I'm going to be so big no one ever think about grabbing me by my collar and yoking me up again.

But anyways, why do you work out?

I take pride in my appearance the way I take pride in keeping my car clean shiny and running well...not obsessed with working out and don't have body image issues...I love the way it makes me feel and your better at pleasing women with added strength and endurance because of lifting and cardio

it helps you feel young and invincible and my diet and avoiding smoking and drinking add to that overall great feeling of being healthy and hardly ever being out of breath like other people who get out of breath moving furniture or going up a long flight of stairs ...

While a lot of our health is out of our control when it comes to genetics working out and being healthy is in our control and when followed with a great regimen makes you a happy positive person

I work out in the hopes of improving my overall functional strength, this has made day to day tasks such as moving/lifting shyte like groceries/ & tables (word to Art Barr) easy. I also lift to excel my strength levels at ball sports....I play FOOT ball in the local league 1 level below semi-pro or as you Americanos would call it 'Sock Her', so yea WTF do I look like getting shrugged off the ball by a next man.

You best believe there is only ONE winner in that shoulder barge on them 50-50 tackles down the left flank bruv :win:
