Seriously, why do you lift? Why do you work out?

Thats wassup. I get around 20 now if I do an hour. Can't imagine 30 but I'll try to reach that now

I'm in ATL now so I might have to check it out

When you get a chance check out the class. A guy named Derry teaches it at Camp Creek La Fitness and the schedule is online as well. The line for the class sometimes starts 2 hours before the class begins; thats how popular it is. And some of the women in there are bad as hell.

A huge part of my self esteem and confidence comes from the way I look. And since I need to use that confidence to push on and be a success in life, I have to keep in shape. Also it just feels good knowing you're strong and can pretty much handle yourself in most situations.

i was an extreme ecto growing up. im tall so that made it look even worse. people would always make fun of my size. my default name for someone who didnt know me was always, "slim."

i wanted to lift but it took a long time for me to get over the embarrassment of being so much weaker than everyone else when i would go into a weight room. finally in college i sucked it up and started trying to put some mass on. i remember my mom even telling me i was wasting my time and money buying protein because i would just always be skinny. that really stuck with me and i started working even harder. it took me awhile to figure out how to actually lift, but im proud to say that ive stuck with it and gone from 160 to almost 220.

also wanted to look good naked :heh:

My goddamn self. Shout out to my real Africans
I lift to maintain my health.

I also like the fact that I have functional strength and I look strong.

The attention from women isn't a bad thing either

It also helps with discipline and having a productive outlet for my Black man rage.

I always have productive days when I lift and it challenges me to eat better and to balance my lifestyle.

It helps me balance out my drinking.

nikkas think twice when they see you

A nikka called me fat. I started working out. I picked that little nikka up and squatted him on my back.

Haven't heard him talk shyt since.

But cheesy really ,but Arnold was my idol as a young boy, first it was because I liked his films and his body (not in a gay way), but as I got older I found out more about him, where he came from, and it is such a motivation. I even do the workouts in the encyclopedia of bodybuilding he wrote, I train at a gym who's owner competed with arnold and socialised with him when arnold lived in the UK before he moved to the states. In my gym there is a sculpture of arnold that has pride of place, that he donated to the gym, back in the 70's arnold even found the time, to be at my friends gym for the opening, so I train in a place where arnold once set foot in and lifted . A few streets away, he partied at a house and went through 3 different girls in one night. I train because I want to have an exceptional body like arnold had and Iam prepared to do whatever I need to to get that , and then go into politics. When Iam not working Iam in the gym. I spend all my money on food and supplements.

Apart from the obvious, which isn't even the main reason for me personally:

- I do a lot of physical server installations which can get physically demanding at times
- I'm 35 in a few months. I'm not getting any younger and don't want to be :flabbynsick: any time soon lol

- I want to keep my blood in good circulation

- I want to remain physically active and not tire out easily

- As someone who used to suffer really bad depression, I wanna keep my endorphin levels raised

- I simply enjoy it

It definitely becomes an addiction. The highs, the lows. The success, the failures. The pursuit of perfection. Its a pretty awesome feeling. I wish I could give you this feeling.:blessed:
