Serious Question: What exactly does Lebron do BETTER right now than Penny Hardaway did offensively?

I'm talking about the starters on most of those 90's squads not the journey men. I consider all these guys to be 90's players.

Dominique Wilkins
Dan Majerle
Mookie Blaylock
Vin Baker
Glen Rice
Derrick Coleman
Latrell Sprewell
Chris Mullin
Joe Dumars
Tim Hardaway
Kevin Johnson
Grant Hill
Penny Hardaway
Mitch Richmond
Gary Payton
Dennis Rodman
Alonzo Mourning
Reggie Miller
Dikembe Mutombo
Shawn Kemp
Patrick Ewing
Clyde Drexler
John Stockton
Charles Barkley
Shaquille O'Neal
Scottie Pippen
Karl Malone
David Robinson
Hakeem Olajuwon
Larry Johnson
Chris Webber
And a boatload of scrubs that aren't worth mentioning that surrounded them.

Every era can name stars. :heh:

The 90s was a horrible brand of basketball I didn't enjoy. The fall off from the 80s was so obvious. The Jazz team that couldnt Get out of the 80s faced the Bulls twice in the 90s and was their best comp.

Man please. That era of ball was overrated as fukk

nikkas is legit retarded and mad that their stupid opinions can be destroyed by facts . :mjlol:

Penny is a much better shooter than Bron! (Bron shoots 3s about as well as Penny did...in Cleveland)

Bron has no post game! (Bron is one of the most efficient and deadly players in the league when in the post).

Defenses were better in the day!! Too many FTs now! (Free throws are happening less than they used to!)

Penny being a good all-around player doesn't make him like Lebron. Lebron is an anomaly because he's a perimeter player who has big man efficiency on high volume.

Lebron has been putting up Prime Kobe, a Kobe that was given the green light to shoot, since he was 21 and people are acting like he'd struggle against defenses in the 90s?

It's kinda annoying how discredited Lebron's skills are because he doesn't look to play flashy or stylishly all the time, same with Mayweather. Lebron is absolutely amazing at almost all the basic aspects of basketball (except his awkward shooting form which only works because he's so damn strong) and people act like he's not that dominant because he makes it look easy.

Yeah, because when you look at the stats that assertion falls flat.

What did he do that Bron didn't exactly? Penny didn't get out of the 1st round w/o Shaq.

:mjlol::comeon::childplease:

I remember hearing people/commentators say Penny was the best player in the game during the Jordan retirement years '94 & '95.

It's funny how the roles reverse....I even remember arguing against nikkaz who tried to say Penny was better than Jordan:whoa:(Believe me, them nikkaz existed.U alway have nikkaz who go against the grain)

The Penny hype was MAJOR back then.nikkaz was just enamored with his style of play.It was beyond the stats. Some people are just "Naturals" at what they do.People are drawn to that. They call it the "iconic presence"

Penny had it & that's "legend" still lingers around today

The thread starter is on a figure skating point system.

"looks better."

:heh:
You been going in on the 90s since the sohh.:heh: As a diehard Knick fan I used to hate, but its clearly overrated. Was watching that 30 for 30 on Reggie Miller and the Knicks and thinking John Starks, Rik Smits and Otis Thorpe were the 2nd best players on contenders.:scusthov:

Yeah...it was strange, tho.

You can make an argument for Penny being the most charismatic player of the 90's.....on the court. He just had a certain flair....draped in those new at the time Orlando Magic jerseys(which were:krs:status back then)....shyt was just the perfect concoction.

Off the court, he was pretty bland:ld:

I do have love for those black pinstriped uniforms. Classic look that never goes out of style.

How hard is it to understand the point of this thread.

It's NOT saying Penny is better than Lebron.

It's saying the two players are similar.

Both are point forwards who did it all when no other players did.
I stopped reading after this. Penny wasn't a point forward, he was a point guard. Then he became a shooting guard later in his career.

I'm gonna need a age check in here for all the talk about nikkas never seeing players play and just looking at stats. I'm wondering how many 90's babies are in here spouting off about 90's basketball.

This never happened.

He was certainly in the conversation... but he was never regarded as the best player in basketball. Even the year he showed out when Jordan was away... Prime Dream, D-Rob, Young dominant Shaq.

Penny was all NBA 1st team two years... came in 3rd for mvp voting once... he had a good run, but he was never the league's MJ or Lebron... he was at best a version of say... James Harden. A really great player... not the best.

He was more like Durant or Curry. The best depending on who you ask

This flowery way of speaking on Penny's impact and talent while legit, doesn't make him as good as Bron.

I agree. He arguably had more "it" factor than any other player during the 90's.
He just kept getting better and better. I won't let this argument about him being better than Bron ruin my love for his game and evolution as a player.
