Serious Question: What exactly does Lebron do BETTER right now than Penny Hardaway did offensively?

This never happened.

He was certainly in the conversation... but he was never regarded as the best player in basketball. Even the year he showed out when Jordan was away... Prime Dream, D-Rob, Young dominant Shaq.

Penny was all NBA 1st team two years... came in 3rd for mvp voting once... he had a good run, but he was never the league's MJ or Lebron... he was at best a version of say... James Harden. A really great player... not the best.

There all big man tho u could make the case he was the best perimeter play tho u could argue grant hill and scottie for his defense

How hard is it to understand the point of this thread.

It's NOT saying Penny is better than Lebron.

It's saying the two players are similar.

Both are point forwards who did it all when no other players did.

Both were NBA superstars.

Might as well throw in they're both signed to Nike with popular signature shoes:manny:

What I'm saying is Lebron isn't as unique of a talent as people today make him out to be.

Penny was just as talented offensively (This has nothing to do with stats), maybe more skilled and talented overall than Lebron at a younger age.

He did what Lebron did years early facing much better competition.

Due to injury Pennys carrer never panned out. He never reached his potential or prime in the NBA.

While he was healthy people compared Peny to Magic Johnson and Michael jordan just like Lebron.

Just like Lebron, Penny was considered to be the face and future of the NBA.

PENNY WAS REGARDED AS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE NBA AT ONE POINT.

These Are all facts.

HOW THEN CAN HE BE OVERRATED?:mindblown:

Nobody's saying Penny is better than Jordan or Lebron.

But why is giving a great player like Penny recognition or even comparing him to Lebron a bad thing to you Lebron fans when he was even LEBROMS favorite player growing up.:banderas:

The name of the thread is quite literally alluding to the belief that Penny in his day was superior to Lebron today offensively. Even though every single piece of tangible proof suggests otherwise.

At which point was penny 'considered' the best player in the nba? He sure as hell wasn't as a rookie, and Hakeem won the championship in 1994 and was considered by most to be the best player until the return of Michael Jordan. I guess penny won player of the month once though. Hang onto that.

I remember commentators calling Penny "arguably the best in the NBA".

There really wasn't a consensus on who was the best during the MJ retirement era.

But back then, if you said "I think Penny is the best" people wouldn't look at you sideways..as if u were crazy.

Not at all----it was more like:ehh: or even :myman:

Or even JORDAN. Not only was Penny in the conversation of being the best, but he was also considered the "next Jordan" or the future of the NBA while jordan was in his 1st retirement. He was even jordans rival when mj returned mid season from baseball.

Wasn't it Pennys orlando that gave Mjs Bulls their ONLY playoff loss since they started winning titles?

Didn't jordan go on record saying he felt comfortable handing the "torch" go Penny.

It's like some of you are either in denial, suffering from amnesia, born in the 90s or just too lazy to do your research or take a simple look on YouTube.

Search "Penny Hardaway" and you'll find all you need to know.

He was kind of a big deal. But I'm done trying to explain to yall.

Watch this and if it still isn't clear to you then :yeshrug:

Or this

Or any thing else made about him during his orlando days.
And he wasn't even more than a 1-3 years in the league at the time:wow:
