Serious Question: What exactly does Lebron do BETTER right now than Penny Hardaway did offensively?

Penny is one of the most overrated players of all time. The arguments I've seen as to why people THINK he is better than LeBron in this thread are absolutely absurd.

LOL @ this shytty ass thread

How hard is it to understand the point of this thread.

It's NOT saying Penny is better than Lebron.

It's saying the two players are similar.

Both are point forwards who did it all when no other players did.

Both were NBA superstars.

Might as well throw in they're both signed to Nike with popular signature shoes:manny:

What I'm saying is Lebron isn't as unique of a talent as people today make him out to be.

Penny was just as talented offensively (This has nothing to do with stats), maybe more skilled and talented overall than Lebron at a younger age.

He did what Lebron did years early facing much better competition.

Due to injury Pennys carrer never panned out. He never reached his potential or prime in the NBA.

While he was healthy people compared Peny to Magic Johnson and Michael jordan just like Lebron.

Just like Lebron, Penny was considered to be the face and future of the NBA.

PENNY WAS REGARDED AS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE NBA AT ONE POINT.

These Are all facts.

HOW THEN CAN HE BE OVERRATED?:mindblown:

Nobody's saying Penny is better than Jordan or Lebron.

But why is giving a great player like Penny recognition or even comparing him to Lebron a bad thing to you Lebron fans when he was even LEBROMS favorite player growing up.:banderas:

Mike played with rage..i would love to have that entire season when he scored 37 per game. That nicca played like he hated his opponent. Like he wanted his foot on your throat at all times
Whatchumean played like he hated...?:mjpls:

Lebron is more atheltic but Penny was way more skilled than Lebron. As Lebron's career winds down he's gonna struggle once his athleticism starts to fade. He still doesn't have a reliable outside shot and his post game is still trash.

The Passage of Time
Based on the Skill Set coming into the league and Penny and Lebron were in the same draft. Who would you pick first, again based on coming into the league a 19 year old Raw Lebron or a 21 year on polished ball player. Now we will find out who is honest with themselves.

Yeah the league that stopped allowing players in out of high school in 2004 and is flooded with long time veterans.

The league started getting younger in the mid 90's.Towards the end of the Bulls second 3peat.

By the time they changed the rules in 2004, the damage had been done.I'll admit that the draft class of '03 up till now has been more entertaining than '97-'02....I was actually somewhat turned off by NBA basketball during that time. Was still a fan, but not as rabid.

To me, the '94 draft is the cutoff point. That was the end of the "old school" era.You have a few individual players who possess high b ball IQ's and/or are fundamentally sound(Like Duncan--'97 draft), but as a collective, the NBA hasn't been the same since that '94 draft....especially '97 and beyond.

Not much has changed with the new rules.Players go to college for one year and still come out raw & undeveloped. They're in a rush to make it to the league.Wasn't like that pre '95...back then, you had to be a total basketball prodigy to come out early. You had to be head & shoulders above your high school/college underclass peers

Now you got the average #20th ranked high school player in the country playing one year of college ball & bouncing

Penny.

after skimming thru this thread. i don't think a lot of cats really got to see penny play before injuries.
and i also am starting to realize. with people outside the coli. a lot of people don't realize how having skill vs being athletic can greatly affect your game.
i keep being told lebron can't be guarded. which is a fallacy. simply because he doesn't have the skill that a lot of the greats had. thats what made them untouchable. combining skill and athleticism. one thing lebron does better than other is he's efficient. but when I'm hoopin that don't mean shyt. never meant shyt until nerds starting making up stats. sometimes you have to rely on the eye test and the basketball knowledge you have.

LeBron came out of High school nba ready, most here would say Kobe is more skilled than Bron but he even struggled his first few years. To say penny was way more skilled is reaching

I saw Penny from college until he retired.

Yall dudes in this convince yourselves dapfest and reassuring yourselves in a groupthink bond are full of shyt...especially when trying to use the age card.

To somehow tie a more efficient to stat boy love is just :mindblown:

Right. Man, I feel like half the people who don't understand this thread or don't appreciate Penny like we do never played a game of basketball and didn't grow up around players with real skill and talent so you can identify/acknowledge it when you see it.

I never cared about stats growning up. I just loved the game.

This era of NBA fans is all obsessed with records and meaningless stat espn spoon feeds them and every little detail you can look up on the Internet and debate over.

I don't need to see stats (other than six rings/6-0 finals wins) to know Jordan>lebron

And I didn't need stats to make this thread:manny:

Lebron was just more athletic than anyone else in the coming out of college. But his game hasn't really evolved offensively compared to dudes like Kobe or Penny. If you crowd the paint he still struggles to score especially when his shot is off. What is he shooting from the 3 point line this post season like 15%? Both Kobe and Penny had decent mid range and post games which Lebron still doesn't have yet. Penny would routinely abuse Scottie Pippen who is known for his defense.
