He has raised this point in order to rally the idiots that think people want something for nothing or that people want to live like the upper class for doing menial jobs when the real point of raising the minumum wage is to coencide with the cost of goods raising and the cost of living raising in this country.

You say that, but its a legit point.

Why are you against a $50 minimum per hour?

MIND YOU, most people (to the tune of 90-95%) dont make minimum wage.

It should be more than $100.

Businesses should only exist to produce and allow people to earn a living on a fair basis. Businesses are institutions no different than churches or governments and they ultimately should face restrictions for the sake of social cohesion and overall good. A form of economic Kantian ethics if you will.

The cost of living would also increase. As someone pointed out minimum and livable wage are different. That is more of a livable that minimum wage. We also can't let the lazy amongst us joy ride thru life with no effort. People need incentives to work hard.

I think that depends on the state.

All the liberal publications/forums/talking heads I followed saw the $15 seattle move with MAJOR hesitation. Some folks just outright ignored it cause they probably didn't wanna be out in front of the issue.

But thats the problem. $15 ain't gonna work EVERYWHERE.

Thats DEFINITELY going to break a lot cities in the short term and theres no telling when things will level out.

When we're talking about MINIMUM wage we have to remember that the USA isn't just NY/Boston/Philly/DC/ATL/Dallas/Houston/LA/SF/Miami/Chicago

Maybe 15 won't work everywhere, but there definitely needs to be some action taken in certain states

Places where the cost of living is higher. It needs to be addressed.
