what is his plan? He seemed to not have shown out any alternatives to immediately get american workers the money they need to support themselves.
I personally support a 10 dollar minimum wage.

$15 NATIONALLY is way too high.

Cause dudes just wanna get in on the anti-corporation circle jerk without understanding that MOST small businesses would collapse on that.

We're talking corner stores, nail salons, flower shops, barbershops, etc.

Also, cali is not mississippi.

Dudes gotta understand this in context.

I' support alternatives as well:

- universal income
- industry specific minimum wage
- age specific minimum wage
- earned income tax credit reform

Pull themselves up by their bootstraps:troll:
Its a legit question though.

I think he can budge on the $10 minimum, but dudes gotta abandon this notion that a minimum wage is supposed to support you. Its not. Its a boundary by which the government understands that NOT ALL WORK can honestly support every single person...but it ensures you get SOME change in your pocket for whatever work you do.

shyt if minimum wage was $20/hr then no one would go to college

But I'm pretty sure everything would be expensive

People wanna get mad when you mention this, but lower wages for lower barrier jobs DO affect motivation to pursue higher wages, better jobs, and opportunities etc.

Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, said he doesn’t believe in a national minimum wage, and if Democrats wanted to prove a point with their Wednesday vote on the issue, they might as well have put the threshold at $100 per hour.

Mr. Coburn said arguments from Democrats that Republicans turned their back on hardworking Americans by filibustering a bill to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour were “malarkey.”

Sen. Tom Coburn: Why not raise minimum wage to $20, $25, or $100? - Washington Times

Let me state:

I'm fairly liberal...but I also try to be realistic as well about holes in my arguments.

What is inherently wrong with the second part of his argument?

I support a $10 minimum wage...but whats wrong with asking for $100?

This is why Hillary will win in 2016....the GOP has fully accepted idiocy as their party platform

Whats so idiotic about making a point about raising the minimum wage to $20 an hour? We all know that $10.10 as an hourly wage in this economy in certain states aint gonna cut the mustard so why is he an idiot for raising this point?

OK 10 right now, when will 15 be needed; 10, 20, 30 years? How about 20 in 100 years??

Then the same excuses would come out wouldn't they??
And all this college talk is irrelevant too as most coming out of college are taking in minimum wage/low paying jobs anyways for a very long time.
Can't find a job in their chosen field, go back to college, incur more debt and still work minimum wage. Keep on keepin' on. Wouldn't those jobs like to have tenured workers instead of a revolving door??
Guess they like having the gov't subsidize their wages...

Sounds like you would rather have no minimum wage, seems as though you don't want small businesses collapsing.

This strategy is the root of the GOP's platform

They don't do anything... they just complain about what the Democrats do

A part of me has lost faith in a party system in general (not that I have an alternative). It seems these people are more interested in "beating" the other side instead of actually improving the country.

He's an idiot for raising this point because it's disingenuous as fukk.

He has raised this point in order to rally the idiots that think people want something for nothing or that people want to live like the upper class for doing menial jobs when the real point of raising the minumum wage is to coencide with the cost of goods raising and the cost of living raising in this country.

It should be more than $100.

Businesses should only exist to produce and allow people to earn a living on a fair basis. Businesses are institutions no different than churches or governments and they ultimately should face restrictions for the sake of social cohesion and overall good. A form of economic Kantian ethics if you will.

Its not so much about "beating the other side" as it is using the farce of it being an "us vs them" thing to get people to buy in and help them consolidate their power. No clearer picture of this than all the red states being the biggest welfare recipients.

15 can come when its needed.

I don't see it right now.

And you're asking for jobs...who isnt?

Read my suggestions. I said universal income may be the next step.
