So that means the surprise on the other side of that double wall is the same one that's in the Ashina Outskirts? Good to know. I still gotta figure out how to not get all slowed down against that thing. Makes it impossible to move and dodge.
i dont recommend fighting headless at this point. you will need a lot of divine confetti and pacifying agent. you will have more of these later and when you have better stats you will be able to take headless out very quickly thus not needing to manage terror as much. headless doesnt drop prayer beads so you get nothing by beating him early in the game.
All that jumping :hhh:
i beat the final boss with a jumping strategy. a pure jumping back strategy will make it almost impossible for you to lose to him.

the hardest boss is
demon of hatred
where you will need to sprint in close and alternate between the block and the dodge buttons. he is basically unbeatable until you memorize that pattern.

This game's fukking me up :francis:

Any tips to improve parry timing?
I'm typically a fast player, that loves to spam dodge and jump, and end up being way too quick hitting L1 when an enemy attacks. What that does is make me miss my deflect, then I try to get out immediately after and that results in me getting hit every single time. What I've done is two things: try to stay on L1 instead of moving out initially, as the block will maintain even if you miss the deflect, and slow down just a bit on deflect attempts. The tricky ones are the enemies that hold their attacks for a little longer. It's always been my problem in these types of games. The attack initiates, I immediately dodge/jump, and end up moving myself directly into the attack. Now that L1 is my initial response, I can usually either just let the block hit, or when I know that I hit L1 too early, I can then move into a dodge and get a counter attack off.

Another mistake I made early was swinging too many times after a deflect. That's not good. Most ppl wanna play games like this with attack spam. That doesn't work. If you get the deflect off (I'm assuming you know the audio and visual difference between a deflect and block by now), swing once then prepare to deflect again. Some enemies may wait to attack after you hit them, but alot of times they will swing immediately. That's actually a really fast way to end fights, as a quick deflect--->attack--->deflect--->attack sequence will drive their posture way up, especially with two particular Ashina Arts unlocked. If you don't get the deflect off, keep holding L1 to block, but don't swing unless the enemy is begging you to.

Hopefully this helps. I'm still just ok at deflecting. My two hardest fights, Lady Butterfly (though that was still early in my figuring the game out) and Genichiro, I still resorted to my tried and true dodge--->counter game, as I didn't fully trust my ability to deflect against them. Then again, I just fought a mini-boss in Senpou and after the first stealth deathblow (seriously, if you're not taking the first orb off of most of the mini-bosses immediately by stealth, you're doing it all wrong), it was an attack spammer. I sat in and deflected maybe 5 or 6 of an 8 attack string and ended up killing it so damn fast. When your deflect game is on point, it makes fights so fun and great.

Stopped having fun with this game. Actually, don't think I ever did start having fun.

Stuck on pretty much every mini-boss.

Sword guy on top of castle
Seven Spear
Long Swordsmen
Headless
Armored Knight

I wanna enjoy this game so bad. Spent 60 dollars on it. Should've just bought RE2 instead of asking the guy if they had any copies of Sekiro in the back. :mjcry::francis:

Game really separating the elites from the casuals.

I was told only 30 something percent of the userbase had beat the dude on the horse based on trophy data  these dudes is trash

That can’t be right. I’ve turned into a casual in my adult life, and I still beat that nikka 1st attempt, easily. And before I fought him, I got washed by Butterfly a solid 3 hrs before I washed her :russ:
