Genichiro was a painful reminder that deflecting >>> dodging in this game.

The key for me was to establish a kind of 1-2-3 rhythm where I would attack twice and immediately block. If he tried to jump and give me the bow action, I was ready. If he starts running, I swing again and then revert back to the 123 beat. If he tries he to charge, Mikiri. When he starts spazzing just block, then go right back on the offense when he stops and swing twice, be ready to block or react etc

Third form was basically the same except being ready to jump when he shoots lightning. He barely defends himself at the end

Painfully long fight, but I feel so much more confident in the game having learned that

I love this shyt, going to be playing this game for a long time!!

I kinda thought Nioh would be more like this in its temperament and aesthetic, From Software has nailed it for me.

One of the things I like about this game ,which reminded me of Ninja Gaiden, is the respect paid to blocking!

The block in this is heavy, the deflection mechanic is ill. I was tempted to spam block at first but there seems to be a rhythm to it. I was playing Thumper on VR and the patterns made me think of sword play!

I'm high as fukk though :ahh:

I think I would get served tf up tryna play high :russ: reflexes too slow

As someone playing Bloodborne (finally!) for the first time and appreciating it being a more well put together modernized Catlevania, this seems like the From Software equivalent of Ninja Gaiden. Castlevania SOTN and Ninja Gaiden are my favorite games ever so I’ll definitely be picking up sekiro when I’m finally done with Bloodborne

Dope!

I think there are still Invincibility frames in the dodge and jump actions but no where near as forgiving as previous FS games.

Bloodborne is one of those games I kinda envy people playing for the first time. Have you got the DLC??

I never get tired of that game!

I thought I was making good progress until I ran into the lone long swordsmen and the seven spear guy
Lone Long Swordsmen

That shyt gave me PTSD from the Capra Demon fight in Dark Souls. A crammed ass space with absolutely no breathing room at all. He will fukk your shyt up if you don't maintain offence

Good thing is, if you walk up a bit from where you met the NPC, you can peek down on him and get a stealth kill on his first bar

The Raven skill is your best friend here. Get a few whacks in, and then teleport through him and get a few more in. If you time it well, you won't get hit with his kick. If you don't, that shyt will knock out 90% of your health and completely destroy your rhythm.

Not much advice to give there except use that Raven skill constantly, try to read him to the best of your ability and hope for the best :mjlit:

Its a short fight, but a hard ass fight

Finally beat Seven Spear. fukk that nikka.
Yeah he was rough for me. I found a easy strategy that ate his life...
BURN HIM! Oil and fire helps break anyone's posture. Right now I'm stuck at the headless dude that be on that freak boy sh1t. You gotta worry about your terror, life AND this dude trying to eat your cornbread. Jesus Mary and Joseph. No worries...I was born by the blood... None of these clowns got sh1t on Ludwig. Oh!! I smoked that Ashina elite with the loaded umbrella. He literally killed himself. If you time it right you'll deflect every attack and he'll put done.

I used the fireworks to get a few free hits... This was the key for me... At first I focused on breaking his posture but found that the fireworks was the easiest way.
