They say this literally every time.
Square Enix never has their
expectations met.
3.4 million copies of Tomb Raider have been sold in four weeks, publisher Square Enix has revealed, which is not enough…

Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy has failed to meet Square Enix's sales expectations.

10 million is the studio's personal goal, not necessarily how many the game needs to move to turn a profit.

Same with XV, they had a
personal goal of 10 million for XV which after 5 years finally "met expectations" and NOT necessarily implying that it didn't turn a profit earlier.
If they're releasing a game and expecting it to sell 10 million units in a few weeks and it doesn't, that's on them for having lofty and unreasonable goals. FFXV took 5 years and that game was on every platform
Hey man, you seemed to be confused as for why someone would talk about them going multiplat, while they wouldn’t say the same about sega.
Square spends lots more on their games than sega, so they expect/need to sell lots more copies.
Even adjusting for less platforms, each one of squares big games have sold less than the last. 7R2 sold less than 16 which sold less than 7R1 which sold less than 15.
It’s clear square needed to make some changes and they talked about it and are making those changes.
Sega on the other hand are breaking their own records with their big titles.
And here, as usual you sony goofies are playing dumb like you don’t understand the difference in situation all so you can defend sony. Yall shoulda bought more square games if you cared about them so much
