Of course the ATL
IDK about Fried. Starting pitching is the most valuable commodity in the sport, even over an everyday position player. Max is 29 so a long term 5-7 year deal takes him into his mid 30s.

I know AAs preference is to get guys under team friendly terms while they’re young but finding perennial Cy Young candidates isn’t easy so I actually think Fried has a better shot of getting a long term deal here than most of y’all do

People keep talking about the bigger bases and new pick off rule as a way to discredit Ronald........if it's so easy now then why does Mookie only have 12 steals? Everyone should be 30/60 this year.

Eury Perez is 2nd with 58 steals. Nobody else has 50. Acuña stole 40+ bases in 2019. It's not as easy as they're making it out to be.

The amount of PRESSURE Acuña puts on teams is crazy. I understand the argument for Mookie but Ronnie has been more valuable.

It also took a hot month for Mookie to get his name in the MVP race. Acuña has been doing this since the season started.

It's funny how an old head like Plaschke is using advanced stats to bolster his argument, seems like something a younger writer would take into account. But he's being a homer, he hasn't seen Acuna day in day out like DOB, Bowman and Toscano have.

It's a 2 man race now, but in any other year Freeman and Olson would be the frontrunners. Just amazing years by all 4 guys

It's also funny he'd use advanced stats when back when they were being pushed he was probably against people using them for their arguments.

Not taking away anything from Betts, Freeman, or Olson but the things Acuña is doing this season are historic!

Braves twitter likes to criticize DOB for the way he is on Twitter but that dude is REALLY GOOD AT HIS JOB. I have an Athletic subscription and his articles are great. I don't read Toscano and Bowman too often but they do good work also.

Also funny how he's using the Mookie has switched position things but lending zero credence to the fact that Ronald hasn't missed a game, and has been in RF for every single game but one this year and that game was the 2nd game of a doubleheader in September when most guys would just take the automatic game off.

I fux with DOB. I love his podcast with Eric O'Flaherty. They cuss, respond to viewer questions on Youtube and are really down to earth.

You get his nerdy beat writer insight and good stories from his time covering the Braves and 90s Marlins, a great look at the day-to-day of a beat writer. Plus you get EOF's expertise as a former player and you learn things you just don't pick up on as a fan

Yeah their podcast is really good. I don't listen to it every time they have one but I do try to catch them when I can. EOF does a great job breaking things down from a pitcher's perspective too. They're also not totally biased and they'll criticize guys or give guys from other teams players their props.

I also really enjoy when Peter Moylan is in the booth with Gaudin . He does a great job giving you a pitcher's perspective. His accent has Gaudin cracking jokes too. I'm so glad we don't have to listen to Chip Caray anymore!

Snit don't get enough credit man. The way he navigated the 2021 season after all the injuries and got that team of young players and trade pieces to buy in was crazy. Of course you give AA credit and you give Freddie and Ozzie credit but Snit was that guy during that whole run.

It's great to see him with a juggernaut now.

I remember all the criticism he received when he first started as manager and everyone wanted him fired. He's a great manager.
